Now what would happen if Nintendo were no longer to be? A company that has closed down and becomes another victim of the cruel business world?

The response of the Playstation fans would be that of celebration as now they can indeed gloat to their disappointed Nintendo loving friends. Yet would the demise of one of the world’s greatest games console be a positive effect on the Playstation?

Lets go back in time, imagine if Nintendo and Rare never made it to the N64 and they had to shut down. What effect would that have on gaming? Mario 64 a revolution in it self, where would we be without the worlds most famous plumber in his amazing 3D world, how far would that set back the evolution of gaming, Zelda that has probably been the greatest influence to many games on all formats now what would some of the games be like without it not as good as they could be that is for sure.

Goldeneye! Now where would first person shooters be without it? No Timesplitters that's for sure, how far would this genre be set back before some clever designers tries to reshape the first person shooter genre in the way Goldeneye did.

Now back to the present what could we be missing out on if the Gamecube fails and Nintendo force to shut their doors for the last time? We may never know which is why I say long live Nintendo because many of us may not think you are the best (I do though) but everyone will have to agree they have helped make gaming what it is today and will help make it what will be.

Here's to the future

And then, and only then, would I buy an X-Box. Finally some good games. ;0)

I'm definitely getting a Gamecube, it's just X-Box versus PS2 for me. And I would say PS2 over X-Box, certainly.

If Nintendo died, Sega would replace them, Sony would make a profit, and Bill Gates would re-employ all the Nintendo workers to work for him.

Carts have quicker loading, that is the ONLY benefit of them.

I tell you what annoy me is that when Nintendo was expensive PS fans complained about it but now Nintendo's system is much cheaper than Sony's they go "doesn't that tell you something".

Easy reply: "yes Nintendo's console is smaller, better and cheaper!"

yeah i love carts, the instant loading is just wicked. But it seems to me that all these fans that wanted the cart system seem to have gone to the darkside of sony. Complaining about games costing too much. idiots.

Nintendo didn't like CD's and so kept with Carts in fact most of their fans prefer the cartridge system and so ok they lost money but Carts is what they and their fans wanted.

Come to think about this, where would the games industry be today without the stupidity of nintendo. There would have been no sony console. Sega most likely would still be in the console market and it would have been like the good ol days of snes VS Megadrive.
