The game has just been released on the Playstation in the USA, along with Final Fantasy 4, and I'd recommend picking up a copy. You'll have to import it though, it'll never get a launch here.
Anyway, Chrono Trigger had a sequel, Chrono Cross. This too has recently been released in the USA, and will never make it over here, but again itis considered to be one of the greatest RPG's available on the Playstation.
I shall be encouraging my brother to get a copy of this, because the first game was so awesome, though the original characters are not in the sequel if it has anything of the spirit of the original it will be astounding.
What annoys be is the way that Nintendo let go of Square so easily. They had a good relationship during the SNES days, working together on the Super Mario RPG, Legend of the Seven Stars (again, not released here!). Square found that the N64 cartridge format was too restrictive for their needs, and decided to develop for the Playstation instead. As a result the N64 had very few decent RPG's. None in fact, if you don't count Zelda.
Anyway, the point of this thread is that Square's Chrono team are working on the next in the series, and are currently undecided about which platform it should appear on. After the revelation that FFXI may appear on the GAMECUBE after it's PS2 launch, it's quite possible that Chrono could come home to Nintendo.
I believe that Nintendo should do everything in their power to make this game available for the GAMECUBE, they should build bridges with Square now, forget the problems with the N64 and get on with things, bringing quality RPG's back to Nintendo. Nintendo have to stop being so proud and pig-headed, and ask Square to come back, afterall they actually want to release their games on all platforms now!
> Dragon Ques
Cool, a fantasy snooker sim!
I will post here when the exact date is, because at th moment i can't be bothered looking for it in the mag.
There is soon to be another promising titlerelesed on the playstation, it is an RPG called Dragon Quest (it'll be called something like Dragon warrior over here) it solld twice as much as Final Fantasy IX did in it's first year of release. Dragon Ques sold something between 4 mil and 4.5 mil (half of which in it's first three days of release) whereas Final Fantasy IX sold 2.5 mil in it's first year (over in Japan)
HA HA!.

Chrono Trigger would be very good for the GBa as it was a brilliant game that many people enjoyed thoroughly. The plot was fantastic and I really enjoyed playing it.
You will have to import FF CHRONicles if you wish to sample the delights of Chrono Trigger on your PSX though. Also the stock is LIMITED and I mean LIMITED. Only a couple of hundred have been sent to England. My local importer (which I have only just discovered) has ordered 30 of them which means that he will get about 10.
The only problem is the fact that it will be an American game. This means that you are gong to need an import agmes disk and a scart lead if you don't have them. The difference if you have a PSX or a PS1 isn't that big though. For the PS1 you need to cover up the disk reader?!?! with a stick. With the PSX a spring is provided to insert into the round slot in the top right hand corner of where the disk is placed (have a look to see what I mean).
Have fun importing. :)
p.s You really do need a scart cable otherwise you will have to play the game in black and white, which is not fun I can tell you.
I don't know why not, it would probably sell well.
I also read about Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 being rereleased on the PS2. Is this a good or a bad thing? They may have updated graphics and possibly a couple more extra features, but will people buy them just because of this?
