Got the DVD Region X and just borrowed a Region 1 (USA) DVD and it works a treat.

No messing about with the TV or SCART, I have a Thomson Widescreen and use the Sony SCART connection supplied with the PS2.

Just load the DVD Region X disk, select the required region, the PS2 tray opens, swap disk for the DVD, close tray and away you go.

It does exactly what it says on the box!

Has anyone actually used this region X thingy, What's it like? Is it 100% region free with NO exceptions.
Is there a way of using this on a stand alone DVD player i.e the TOSHIBA sd - 2109, does anybody know?

sorry it cant be used for backups it is designed to unlock country codes on dvd's only and the ps2 can tell the difference between a movie and a game

Yup! It acts as a 'boot cd', getting past the information engraved on the disc that only real PS discs have. A GameShark Cheat cd can also do this.

In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.

Brilliant! As usual the careful and intuitive production that Freeola puts into everything it sets out to do. I am delighted.
