Not really into beardy turn-based RPG nonsense, but I do like Gauntlet. Not looking for in depth combat systems with magic and skill points and all that kind of nonsense, I just want to kick the crap out of some monsters and by the sounds of that's what this game's all about. SO would I be happy with this game or is it too in depth and anal for its own good?

I dunno, i thought the game was a bit average, i had to use my pure LOTR fanboyism to finish it.

True enough. But you have also resorted to said stereotypes Mr Pot.
Personally I like both types of games. Although fighting and point clicking with the mouse wasn't my idea of a great experience.

I was using an example to show how stupid it is.

Stereotype much?
Ever thought that maybe they're more for casual gamers who don't have time to sit in front of their PC for hours on end buildiing up their elven warlords to take on the clan of beardy beards?

"Muhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh111111 - whatever"
Resorting to them to prove a point is still resorting to them.

I'm sorry who are you talking to now?

Baldurs Gate in essence is D&D. The console version just makes it less obvious by making it a hack and slash and doing away with a lot of the more RPG style nonsense usually found in these types of games.
