Dreamcast...
Many people will class Dreamcast as a failure and a waste of good white plastic. The people that say this do not own a DC. Anyone that owns a DC with brilliant games like NBA 2k, Jet Set Radio and Shenmue will say that the DC is the best thing since slice bread.
I have a DC with brilliant games and you may call me biased but the DC is not a failure, it gave me quality gaming memories and still has a lot to come with games like Shenmue 2 and Headhunter coming out quite soon.
We have to be fair to the Dreamcast, as it did start this entire Next Generation thing off. And it was a first so no one had anything to compare it too. PS2, Xbox and Gcube all had/have an advantage as they've all seen a next generation console in action...
Conclusion: With the DC's short life it did very well and many people got hours of joy out of the lil' white box.
The DC still has games to come and anyone selling there DC should hang there heads in shame with Traitor written across there fore-head.
PS2:
We all looked forward to this console, staring at it in amazement watching such launch games as Ridge Racer and Tekken Tag. But when it finally came out in this country it was a big failure and has to be the worst launch I’ve ever seen for any console! With only a few in England on its launch and being priced at a massive £300 it was not a success at first.
But now the PS2 is on track producing brilliant games and boasting stunning graphics. With much more in the country and the price dropping more people are getting the PS2 and being happy with its quality graphics, game play and games!
Conclusion: The well respected Sony and PS2 are bound to do well, when the price drops to around £200 the PS2 will be selling like hot cakes.
PSX/ PS1:
This has to be classed as the best and most successful console no matter what anyone say's the PSX was a great hit and should never be forgotten sparking off a new era of gaming. With a long lifespan the PSX is still going, selling well. With quality games dropping since the release of PS2 good games are still coming out. Any fanactic gamer should have this grey box. If you bought your PSX around the launch date you might find it having a few problems, with games all ways crashing. This is why we have the tiny PS1. To replace the PSX, with the LCD screen this good be a great transport game by plugging it in your car (make sure you don't run down your car's battery)!
Conclusion: The PSX has to be classed as the best console, with it's graphics looking a bit dated now it still boasts brilliant game play with class games still coming out. The PSX will eventually go to Gamers Heaven, like consoles such as SNES, Mega Drive and Saturn. Lets just enjoy it why we can. :)
Gcube: With the Gcube looking up to expectations it looks like the Gcube will be a big success. With a stunning display at E3 we can expect a lot from are multicoloured friend.
With stunning graphics, especially that Luigi game, it looks brilliant.
I can't wait for it to come out and show the world what Nintendo can do this time.
With Technology that GBA can connect up to the Gcube and be an extra console controller it's going to be good.
The Gcube is said to be mostly for little kids. With it's bright colours and Mario, but let's see what Nintendo have up there sleeve.
Conclusion: The Gcube is going to be great successes with many people buying at launch being priced around £200 it is a reasonable offer.
Xbox:
I don’t know much about Xbox, I only know the bad news about it, as the old saying goes... Bad news travels faster then good.
I don't think it will sell quite as many as Gcube and PS2. With it being made by one of the most hated man on the earth (Bill Gates) and being the size of a Video recorder it doesn't look good for Xbox.
Conclusion: This is Microsoft’s first console, many people not liking it as it is to much like a PC i don’t think it will sell to much.
Well there you go, the list of the consoles. On what’s hot and what’s not, remember. This is my opinion, no one else’s. So don't have a go at me if I'm wrong in your eyes :)
Next Generation Console
Conclusion: Sony rules the world, Nintendo are about to rule the world, and Microsoft better pull there sleeves up if they want to do something about it!
> Woah, calm down Jeremy!

That's Better...
It was in reply to someone down the list although it took quite a while and I didn't think to 'Reply quoting the message'
GAME
My goodness, what are you thinking... just because it is made by Microsoft doesn't mean it's a PC! The X-Box games are looking great... Unreal Championship, Halo, Sega Sports... you might get these on Gamecube but they're still gonna be just as good on X-Box, if not better! Jet Set Radio is another great game... packed full of fun... Want a sequel? Then you'll want an X-Box! Championship Manager... Hated having to get off your console and onto your PC just to play your favourite game?! Don't worry, Champ Man 4 will be 'X-boxed'!
The X-Box, as I said, is purely a games machine and the sad thing is, people are gonna miss out on some ground-breaking games just because of their pride... If I had the money, which I might, i'd get an X-Box... it is big, and has been dubbed 'ugly' but at least it looks like a DVD/Video player rather than a Child's Building Block or a Fancy Radiator...
I don't have anything against Microsoft and to dismiss their consoles as any form of entertainment is plain stupid. You've seen the X-Box games... Raw is War looks amazing... and I thought SD3 was good?!
Microsoft have also said their going to have Voice Activated headsets... I know I wouldn't mind strategically placing my Halo troops over the battle-zone using the headset whilst I blasted away at the enemy using the Game pad!!
It may have a lot of PC based components, but what makes you think that's a bad thing... NVidia didn't get where they are today by producing shoddy, second-rate hardware, and the same goes for Intel. You might not get Mario or Link on the X-Box, but if having one means you get to play some of the best games around it's more than worth it! Trust me.. you'll be seeing more X's on your calendar than ever before. New heros will be born and new genres will evolve!
I just don't see how Microsoft + NVidia + Intel + Loads of Games + 733Mhz processing power + 4 Game Pad ports + DVD Playback = Anything bad! Think about it
Thanks...
Game
I'll go back to my room, board it up, alone in my room. Time will pass, alone in my room.
He should read some of mine.
The concept of it would overload his brain.
no way, my Playstation crashed once when i highlighted every xplorer code just to see what would happen, 3 years of playing it day in day out, Never lost a game save or had any fear of it losing my game. The most reliable console ever!
The PS2 on the other hand doesn't seem as reliable, I've lost LOADS of game saves when my PS2 card packed in and I'm not as confident with it as i was with my PS1.
I don't think the PS2 launch was a failure. It was just a mess but when you get your console you'll leave it all behind. The xbox is going to be thw worst cosole in history i mean sometimes when your playing a PC game it does somethng and you can' control for a few seconds and you'll lose your game. any PC in a box aint good.
How, when it's newest most innovative title (PIKMIN) is based around a load of lack-of-detail Chikoritas and a Honey-I-Shrunk-The-Spaceman!
