Who is the king of the consoles, who is the bore of the lot. Well I have evaluated every console in my opinion; taking in no-one else’s opinions, just mine. So here goes:

Dreamcast...
Many people will class Dreamcast as a failure and a waste of good white plastic. The people that say this do not own a DC. Anyone that owns a DC with brilliant games like NBA 2k, Jet Set Radio and Shenmue will say that the DC is the best thing since slice bread.
I have a DC with brilliant games and you may call me biased but the DC is not a failure, it gave me quality gaming memories and still has a lot to come with games like Shenmue 2 and Headhunter coming out quite soon.
We have to be fair to the Dreamcast, as it did start this entire Next Generation thing off. And it was a first so no one had anything to compare it too. PS2, Xbox and Gcube all had/have an advantage as they've all seen a next generation console in action...

Conclusion: With the DC's short life it did very well and many people got hours of joy out of the lil' white box.
The DC still has games to come and anyone selling there DC should hang there heads in shame with Traitor written across there fore-head.

PS2:
We all looked forward to this console, staring at it in amazement watching such launch games as Ridge Racer and Tekken Tag. But when it finally came out in this country it was a big failure and has to be the worst launch I’ve ever seen for any console! With only a few in England on its launch and being priced at a massive £300 it was not a success at first.
But now the PS2 is on track producing brilliant games and boasting stunning graphics. With much more in the country and the price dropping more people are getting the PS2 and being happy with its quality graphics, game play and games!

Conclusion: The well respected Sony and PS2 are bound to do well, when the price drops to around £200 the PS2 will be selling like hot cakes.

PSX/ PS1:
This has to be classed as the best and most successful console no matter what anyone say's the PSX was a great hit and should never be forgotten sparking off a new era of gaming. With a long lifespan the PSX is still going, selling well. With quality games dropping since the release of PS2 good games are still coming out. Any fanactic gamer should have this grey box. If you bought your PSX around the launch date you might find it having a few problems, with games all ways crashing. This is why we have the tiny PS1. To replace the PSX, with the LCD screen this good be a great transport game by plugging it in your car (make sure you don't run down your car's battery)!
Conclusion: The PSX has to be classed as the best console, with it's graphics looking a bit dated now it still boasts brilliant game play with class games still coming out. The PSX will eventually go to Gamers Heaven, like consoles such as SNES, Mega Drive and Saturn. Lets just enjoy it why we can. :)

Gcube: With the Gcube looking up to expectations it looks like the Gcube will be a big success. With a stunning display at E3 we can expect a lot from are multicoloured friend.
With stunning graphics, especially that Luigi game, it looks brilliant.
I can't wait for it to come out and show the world what Nintendo can do this time.
With Technology that GBA can connect up to the Gcube and be an extra console controller it's going to be good.
The Gcube is said to be mostly for little kids. With it's bright colours and Mario, but let's see what Nintendo have up there sleeve.
Conclusion: The Gcube is going to be great successes with many people buying at launch being priced around £200 it is a reasonable offer.

Xbox:
I don’t know much about Xbox, I only know the bad news about it, as the old saying goes... Bad news travels faster then good.
I don't think it will sell quite as many as Gcube and PS2. With it being made by one of the most hated man on the earth (Bill Gates) and being the size of a Video recorder it doesn't look good for Xbox.
Conclusion: This is Microsoft’s first console, many people not liking it as it is to much like a PC i don’t think it will sell to much.

Well there you go, the list of the consoles. On what’s hot and what’s not, remember. This is my opinion, no one else’s. So don't have a go at me if I'm wrong in your eyes :)

Next Generation Console
Conclusion: Sony rules the world, Nintendo are about to rule the world, and Microsoft better pull there sleeves up if they want to do something about it!

I'm not saying the X-box will fail, just that it's not my first choice of console. It looks as though it has the support it needs, but Microsoft have to start a big advertising campaign and get the press on their side.

There have been lots of pieces in the press recently about the Gamecube and how good it will be. If the X-box needs to compete then they need to get the papers to start dishing out some good vibes about it. Tabloids especially.

Yeah, but I'm so great my vote represents the voice of the nation.

HAS THE POTENTIAL.

Let's take a look at these boards then shall we? I know it's not exactly a nation size community but still. Out of the Regulars and Notables I cn think of ONE Xo. And that's FantasyMeister. The least number of people you need for a survey is 30. There's loads more than that here.

Shows you what I mean doesn't it?

The fact of the matter is the X-Box has the potential to dominate the Games market. The developers are there - Konami, Capcom, Sega, Infogrammes, Microsoft and others. The console itself has the power - Intel 733 Pentium III. The graphics, as already shown are almost perfect - Gotham Racing and Halo - Geforce 3. DVD playback means that people can play DVD's IF THEY WANT TO.

It has the ability is just needs that gaming flare that we have seen through games like Sonic, Resident Evil, Mario, MGS and Jet Set Radio and with 3 of the 4 developers that make the (just listed) games on board that shouldn't be a problem.

You'll have to come to terms with it sooner or later... Microsoft are here and they're bringing a £500,000,000 advertising campaign, loads of developers and the most powerful machine to the dance! Wake-Up people, they're not joking!

The Xbox WILL fail. It's too big anyway. It's a fatass American compared to the anorexic PS2 and the baby Gamecube.

And hey, if there's any means of future connectability between PC's and the X-Box it will be great. I know the X-Box has the internet, but imagine taking your MP3's and Attatching them to your X-Box hard drive... you could play MP3's during games instead of having the normal game music! Not just CD music, but MP3 stuff as well!

Nice.

Another good feature is the start up (No disc) it looks ace and according to IGN it's pretty rich where features are concerned! I like the Idea... of course... we won't really be able to finally decide which console to get until about a month before release when we know of the launch games and the companies future plans...

I can't wait... but all we can do now is wait for Space world, the US launch of the GC and X-Box and play in our Gameboy Advances...

[Although, as Bonus knows, I still don't have mine... :(...]

Nice one Jeremy!

Totally agree - it'll do well. In little more than 5 months time the advertisements will have long started and people will start talking about how amazing Project Gotham, DoA3, Nascar and a like look - they must eat humble pie. Tastes quite bitter actually.

Damn straight, it ain't no PC. Oh and yeah it looks huge, it is huge, but the green lights? Nice...

Maybe it's because it'll be an American console - the Japanese don't like it but the USA gaming people are probably getting quite excited. However bad E3 was for Microsoft, it only shows things will get better.

Hype: 0.

We'll all be amazed ;)
