Ok with the rise in popularity of “nu-metal” music, if you like this stuff, there is a wealth of much, much louder and more honest music out there for you to discover, here are some you may have missed:

Fudge Tunnel: A Nottingham 3 piece with the classic “Hate Songs in E Minor” album. Guitarist/shouter Alex Newport formed Nailbomb with Max Cavelera from Sepultura/Soulfly. Intense, insanely loud and furiously good.

Clutch: Formerly a shouty hardcore band, they’ve turned into a groove-soaked, perfectly tuneful blues/rock outfit. Do not let these guys go unnoticed.
“Who Wants to Rock?” and “Pure Rock Fury” should be reason enough to listen to them

Cop Shoot Cop: 2 bass players, 1 guitarist, a trombone player, no drummer, 3 percussionists and attitude aplenty.

Biohazard: New York Hardcore at it’s finest.

Helmet: Big, loud, tight, angry, tuneful. Have many stop/start riffs with gaps in. Godlike.

White Zombie: B-movie horror rock. “La Sexorcisto, Devil Music Volume 1” is essential listening.

Rollins Band: Articulate, heavy, passionate music from Henry “hugs” Rollins.

So you don’t need Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit and other white-kids in shorts telling you how mean grown-ups can be.
But what do I know?

The reason i hate slipknot and korn (okay maybe not enough to want them dead no one should die for such a reason)
is that they take themselves so seriously yet they have no artistic ability.

I can understand how people have there own musical tastes and that this should be respected but what im saying is is that nu-metal etc and all this new cr@p isn't music its noise and it appeals to humanity's less admirable qualitys and it makes me laugh that people are stupid enough to consider it music which only proves that they have a very low understanding of what music is which leads me to think that maybe i shouldnt tolerate them.
Grunge can have its place but ill never accept it as music form and only very passable as an art form

When your 75 do you think you'll still be listening to nu-metal etc? no. Do you think that if you listened to elvis or the beatles in the 50's 60's etc will you be listening to it when your 75?
yes

Korn and slipknot all of em should die cos theyre talentless hacks and stupidity isnt an exscuse

People have always liked "extreme" music.

Elvis was considered a "corrupting influence" and The Beatles were denounced as racy and dangerous because of their wild haircuts.

Slipknot, Korn etc are just doing their thing, in a few weeks, they'll go back underground and either carry on or disappear.
Korn have been going for a while though ,same as The Deftones.

It's the ones like Papa Roach, Slipknot, Linkin Park etc that are on this particular bandwagon. But it's just a cycle.

And simply because you dont like the music, saying "they need to be shot for calling themselves artists" is rubbish.
Music is personal taste.

Although I dont like them, I would rather listen to Slipknot than Hearsay, becuase at least Slipknot are making that music themselves, it's not supplied by a hit factory in Sweden.

The problem with new music is that it is all cr@p.
It stands for nothing it has become the new pop.
ALL it is is talentless hacks who can play a few instruments who dont have the time to come up with proper music or lyrics, theyre cashing in on the current popularity of the music. The reason why its so popular.
Because society is getting worse and worse and the only people who listen to the music are basically lazy.
They identify there own lives with the hate thats in the lyrics and the heavy sounds that are the music and so they like it. THey cant be bothered to actually think about the music or their own lives so they identify with the music.
Korn, Slipnot, Limp Bizkit all make me laugh.
Theyre like five year olds using adult words because they wont to look old and smart to everyone else.
Slipknot is a band of freaks as is korn both deserve to be shot because of the way they consider themselves to be real artists. In 100 years time do you think scholars will look back and argue over which was better korn or slipknot and analyse the musical structure of there songs?
quite simply no.
