What happened to such games as Dungeon Keeper 3 and SimsVille, games that we have seen advertised in the previous games (DK2 and SC3000), but seem to have just disappeared. I'm sure many other games have just disappeared also... So where have these games gone, and are there any more that seem to have gone wayward?

Simville got canned by EA because they thought that by changing the formula of the Sims too much, they would loose some of their huge fan base, so they stuck with a plain old Sims 2 sequel.
Most games get cancelled for fairly simple reasons, the most common being bankruptcy of the developer, an example, Interplay recently went bust and their forthcoming, and highly anticipated Fallout 3 sequel went with it.
The good news is that the rights to these game can be bought, so if a developer sees a game that was cancelled and thinks they can make something of it, they'll pick up the rights and develop it themselves. Hence why Fallout 3 is back in development when Bethesda Softworks picked up the rights for the game.

i was thinking along the same lines as i love dk2 and was highly anticipating dk3 after watching that clip but unfortuantley its been cancelled. I dont know what went wrong with that sim game i saw a clip for.
