What is the point in electing members to become 'Notables'
I used to say how it was and is a stupid idea of making some of the more longer running members more respect than other members (which quite frakly I don't think anyone deserves) however I now have another more relevant reason.
Does anyone really care whether they have regular or notable under their name? If so they must be very very sad people! When I read messages, although I take a look at who they are from, I don't look at their status and see if they're a notable or not. I don't care at all if they're notables or not.
No one here deserves any more respect than anyone else. Everyone should be treated the same, fairly and as equals, instead of being thought of as 'better'.
No member on this board is better than me. And I'm not saying I'm better than anyone else! Every member on this board has, or should have the same rights on this board (other than staff members who run the board).
If people want to sink so low as to vote for others in a 'notable' election, then that's fine by me. However why waste your time. People like me wont even notice if anyone else has 'notable' under their username.

He's 'Classed' above you becasue he is one of the most respected members of this forum. He writes well, he's funny and he has the brains enough to be modest.

Since the notable thing started nobody has made a big deal out of it (except from last election) None of the old notables and the new ones even mention being one EVERYBODY else does especially you... it seems you are the only one who cares about it Edgy.

Well i don't why is Grix seen as above me? I liked it when we were all equals but now we have a Notable who is more important than everyone else and newbies who are bottom of the pile!

If you ask me, Grix, FM and Ant are the only true notables around here.

It seems like certain people have a slight inferiority complex here.
The thing you have to ask yourself, is whether you dislike their notable status because it changes how people react to them, or because it changes how YOU react to them.
I'm not entirely convinced that last sentence made sense, but It sounded quite good before I wrote it, so that will do.
How much do you people recpect and trust the notables? Would you take a lift in a car if one was offering? I wouldn't - most of them can't drive.
Anyway, (relative) anonymity has it's advantages, which is why I also... oh never mind.
Some people being notables hasn't changed my view on them.
