What is the point in electing members to become 'Notables'
I used to say how it was and is a stupid idea of making some of the more longer running members more respect than other members (which quite frakly I don't think anyone deserves) however I now have another more relevant reason.
Does anyone really care whether they have regular or notable under their name? If so they must be very very sad people! When I read messages, although I take a look at who they are from, I don't look at their status and see if they're a notable or not. I don't care at all if they're notables or not.
No one here deserves any more respect than anyone else. Everyone should be treated the same, fairly and as equals, instead of being thought of as 'better'.
No member on this board is better than me. And I'm not saying I'm better than anyone else! Every member on this board has, or should have the same rights on this board (other than staff members who run the board).
If people want to sink so low as to vote for others in a 'notable' election, then that's fine by me. However why waste your time. People like me wont even notice if anyone else has 'notable' under their username.

Hmmmm, i've just read all of this topic and it;s quite intersting. I noticed 2 things.
Grix and FM haven't said anything about it. Maybe because they're not about, or maybe they don't really care.
Secondly, olny Dringo and Edgy seem to have a problem with the situation, no one else seems to be complaining.
To be honest, i haven't seen much change in anyone since the whole notable thing started. They all seem the same as they were before. I don't know why Grix Ant and FM are having their names thrown about so much, FM is hardly on anymore and Grix and Ant haven't changed, they are both still top blokes.
Some people have been saying that the forums is going downhill, but a forum is only as good as its contributers. It's all very well saying 'this place is crap now', but you need to suggest something to make it better instead of moaning all the time.
Soneone also said something like 'most of you are only here because you can win a game each day.' I resent this, i'm not here to win games, i'm here to discuss things.
I'm definately not here to put up with people whinging about something that really doesn't matter that much.
