The Healer, Mr Mojo himself has passed on.
Damn.
And Hearsay are releasing a new single soon
There is absolutely no justic in this world.
John Lee Hooker
RIP
"Boom Boom Boom Boom...gonna shoot you right down...."
Nobody knew who this guy was?
Or am I the last one to find out?
Ah, I get it, nobody knows him.
er...how to get the masses to realise..
Ah yes, he was the gnarly old black dude that did that Budweiser advert "Boom Boom Boom Boom"
There you go.
I bet if Celine Dion popped it or Ronan Keating snuffed it, this board with be awash with sympathy and sobbing.
Heathens...goddamn heathens.
Sorry, but this guy was and always will be a total Blues Legend.
He's up there with Howling Wolf, Robert Johnson, Buddy Guy, Blind Lemon Jefferson.
These guys created the blues.
Without them you would not have The Beatles, Rolling Stones or rock and roll as you know it.
And nobody comments on his death?
This is not on people, I'm sorry to bang on but we need to realise where our musical heritage comes from, otherwise we're adrift in a sea of mediocre pop crap.
And Santana hasn't just appeared on the scene with that song, he's been doing his thing since the 60's.
John Lee Hooker achieved critical acclaim and a wide appeal with his grammy winning "The Healer" that had collaborations with people like Bonnie Raitt, Santana and many, many others.
He had been performing since the the 30's onstage with a choir.
He taught himself the guitar through listening to slaves down South in the cotton fields.
This dude had so much heritage, so many stories and seen so many things.
And now he's dead.
Another dead hero that nobody thinks twice about.
Shame on you
