That is too true. Same applies to Rachel Stevens.

Girls, if you get dumped by your record company, and want a change of career, you know where to come - Namo Topless Model Agencies - The NTMA. We'll sort you out.

No.
He continued performing right up until las**t weekend.
The single bigges**t selling Blues artis**t of all time.

Being 18 is no excuse dude, I was raised on The Doors, Pink Floyd, Beefheart.

I know people have different music tas**tes, but when each legend dies, that part of his**tory and music dies with him.
I would recommend anyone that likes music to get
"The Healer" or any collection album, they used to be about £5 in the Blues section, but they'll be reissued now he's dead at a more expensive price.

It's jus**t that so few people bother to look outside the chart for music.
Radio doesnt play anything that isnt plugged and A lis**ted by record companies.
Lis**ten to X-fm (104.9 fm) for one of the las**t decent radio s**tations s**till out there.

This morning, in 1 hour they played:

Jimi Hendrix
D12
Limp Bizkit
Mull His**torical Society
Run DMC
Talking Heads
John Lee Hooker (3 tracks in a row as a tribute)

There is so much good music out there, but it's not made by plas**tic dance robots with shiny hair and no personality, so you wont hear it.

We live in a world where Hearsay, Wes**tlife, A1, Backs**treet Boys etc rule the music world, and nobody gives a sh*t when an absolute legend of music dies.

This isnt really directed at anyone here, more of a general rant at the s**tate of music.
It sucks, and can only get worse.

Sorry to sound overboard on this, I just can't believe that not one person said anything about it.

There are topics on Big Brother and who to kick out, Star Trek and Blink bloody 182.

John Lee Hooker dies and nothing?

Wasnt even in the papers today, yet I can learn all about Mylene and Hearsay and what they are doing.

We live in an age now where the music doesnt count for anything.
It's image and what demographic you can hit quickly before your 15 mins is up.
Disgraceful.

S-Club Seven describe themselves as a "multi-media experience".
What??????
They release records, they are not CD Rom creations (although I wish they were).
Check out the Top 40 albums, utter, utter crap (curse the language filter, I am seething right now).
There is the occasional decent album in there made by people that care about the music, whether you like them or not:

Travis
Radiohead
Coldplay

My point isnt whether you think they're good or not, I'm saying that these groups are musicians, not bloody pop wannabes.
John Lee Hooker was one of the most respected and well liked Blues legends on this planet, ever.
He's like the Jesus of Blues, they didnt come any more important and influential than him.

And nothing. Not a damn word in most of the media today.
But it's all "Ooooh, vote (insert puppet name here) out of the house, they are soooo rubbish".

This is the age we live in and we should hang our heads and apologise.
Music, for the most part, has lost it's passion and feeling.
It means nothing anymore, people don't take the time to learn instruments and write songs, they audition with 1000's of others to have songs written for them and dance to a click track.

If we're not careful, music will die and be replaced with carefully selected Karaoke bands that offend nobody, say nothing and have absolutely no musical validity.

Speaking as someone in a band that is getting some decent attention at last, it is absolutely infuriating to watch yet another boy/girl band smile at the camera and sell thousands upon thousands of records, when there are so many other real bands out there, slogging their guts out to half-empty pubs on "the circuit".

That sucks, it is not right.
These popstars have no talent, they are stuck in a house to learn to sing and then presented to pree-teen kids that get their parents to buy the album/video/annual/stickers.

Bands used to rock, they used to matter to people.
Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Creedence Clearwater...these were all bands that wrote music, meant it and played from their hearts.

Even pop music used to more than carefully manufactured mindless little robots seeking sponsorship deals.
Please people, realise that bands like Westlife, Hearsay and all the others simply dont matter.
They are not musicians, they play no instruments, they write no songs.

Brittney Spears! Yeah, one word:
Tiffany

I am disgusted that John Lee Hooker is dead and nobody gives a toss, yet "the nation is obsessed with my boobs: says Mylene" makes the papers.
Something is wrong here people, and nobody seems to care about it.

Venues where bands can play are closing daily, the circuit is getting smaller and smaller, labels are merging and losing the lesser selling bands.

Soon there will be only a handful of albums you can buy, and we will no longer argue over how bad radiohead have become, because we will all have glazed eyes, a line of drool and be watching eMpTyV for the next Brittney video.

Goddamit...John Lee Hooker is dead and nobody cares.
Music is dying and you wont be able to care soon.

Yeah... I was reading this this morning...

It is a shame...

one of the last of the Delta Blues greats an all...

All the same... given troubles he had in earlier life... The lifestyle he kept in later life... He lived to a pretty good age (how old was he? 85?)
