"Our main objective is still to continue supporting the Dreamcast, European owners can expect at least 50 more titles before March 2002"

That's the word 'Expect' that sums everything up. Sega all ask us to expect. So we do, we expect and then we become disappointed because they do not fullfill there promise. Sega, you have deserted us. It's time to join you.

>Everyone - keep your Dreamcast, but you will have to get a new console to experience the future cream of Sega<

This is a more concise post about mine, and your disappointments with Sega.

Broken Promises. As already mentioned, many words and posts ago, Sega decided to indeed let their unique offering (their words not mine) 'fail' in a sense of retail and production. Dreamcast has sold out in Japan. Not much time left to get one over here either, and yes I recommend them, but no I am not at all happy - further still, at Sega and their attitude.

SEGA : AGES

Sega take ages to release games - it's all in their name. Everything worth buying has been delayed, even the console. Oh well, it happens.

Sega promise titles that don't appear:

Half Life - THE most highly anticipated 'Dreamcast game' ever since Shenmue was released. Patronisingly delayed, by almost 7 months now, it looks as though Half Life won't ever make it to the Dreamcast.

As I type, I listen to Eric Clapton "Knocking on Heaven's door". How ironic.

Black and White - where did it go? LionHead weren't brave enough. This is not the reason I paid £189.99 for my console.

Ok, blah, blah, blah. I've complained enough, no I haven't.

Sega have screwed up Crazy Taxi 2. I'll tell you why.

Up until yesterday, I was looking forward so much to the release of Crazy Taxi 2 - here a game, with new features, moves and most importantly, the promise of 4 player simultaneous play. Yes you can pick up more than one passenger, woohoo!

No, there is no multiplayer.

Essentially, CT2 is CT. Any point in getting it?

To see how I am feeling, please refer to my tagline.

Be vocal.

No online play in MSR, Sega Rally, Daytona USA 2001. Now this.

I am most displeased, saddened and ashamed of Sega. Yes they make great games, but no, they don't give a damn about us.

>Plays Michael Jackson song of which I cannot remember title<

Ode to Sega?

Roll on the GBA and GameCube.

Yes, I admit, I'm going to be missing games like Shenmue II, and headhunter. But i'm also going to be getting brilliant games that include Tony Hawks 3, Gran Turismo 3 and Metal Gear Solid 2. I'd swap theese games for a DC anytime.

And also i'm selling my DC before it's to late, befotre everyone realises that DC is going down. So in my way i do loose a lot, but i gain much more, if you know what i mean?!?!

It's not Sega's fault though-they have no choice or they're gonna go bankrupt. I'm gonna support them whole heartedly, this consumer's gonna do whatever he can to get Sega back to the top-where it belongs!

good attitude mr p.

But Sega = poor customer relations. Yes DC = superb. Support now = atrocious.

Mag = boring.

Sonic 2: 8/10

Spider Man 7/10.

Nothing interesting on the demo disc.

Selling your dreamcast now is one hell of a mistake. Your gonna be missing out on some of the best game of 2001 and 2002. Once the games have finally finished will there be any point in another console, by that time there will be more of a selection than the PS2. And then there might even be some PS2 games worth buying. But until then, im sticking with sega, i have done since the master system. In fact i owe sega so much, if it hadn't been for Sonic, i probably wouldn't have become the cartoonist i am today! Nothings gonna make me give up my beloved DC-best console ive ever had. FACT.

Spider, whats the point in selling your DC?

There are still great games available for the machine, some of the early classics you can buy now really cheaply.

I'm going to keep my DC and i recommend to everyone else they do the same.

It's true, Sega have let down there fans. I'm a subscriber of the Official Dreamcast Magazine (ODM). And yesterday i got a new issue dlivered to more door saying:

ODM have stopped the subscription deal, as less Dreamcast games are being made and all them excuses!

I'm angry with you Sega for giving up so early and I'm selling the DC before it's to late and i'm getting a PS2!

Yep, in more ways than one!

:-)

Seriously though, i'm not too disappointed. The games i've got are amazing, and they will take me a while to go through all of them and complete them on hardest difficulty and get all the bonus items etc, and i've only got 8 games.

Yes im annoyed that there is not internet play in games like M:SR, Daytone etc. But i wasn't prepared to play online with it much anyway as i couldn't afford the phone bill. Especially as i have free dial up with my PC to play games like UT, Q3A etc.
