That's the word 'Expect' that sums everything up. Sega all ask us to expect. So we do, we expect and then we become disappointed because they do not fullfill there promise. Sega, you have deserted us. It's time to join you.
>Everyone - keep your Dreamcast, but you will have to get a new console to experience the future cream of Sega<
This is a more concise post about mine, and your disappointments with Sega.
Broken Promises. As already mentioned, many words and posts ago, Sega decided to indeed let their unique offering (their words not mine) 'fail' in a sense of retail and production. Dreamcast has sold out in Japan. Not much time left to get one over here either, and yes I recommend them, but no I am not at all happy - further still, at Sega and their attitude.
SEGA : AGES
Sega take ages to release games - it's all in their name. Everything worth buying has been delayed, even the console. Oh well, it happens.
Sega promise titles that don't appear:
Half Life - THE most highly anticipated 'Dreamcast game' ever since Shenmue was released. Patronisingly delayed, by almost 7 months now, it looks as though Half Life won't ever make it to the Dreamcast.
As I type, I listen to Eric Clapton "Knocking on Heaven's door". How ironic.
Black and White - where did it go? LionHead weren't brave enough. This is not the reason I paid £189.99 for my console.
Ok, blah, blah, blah. I've complained enough, no I haven't.
Sega have screwed up Crazy Taxi 2. I'll tell you why.
Up until yesterday, I was looking forward so much to the release of Crazy Taxi 2 - here a game, with new features, moves and most importantly, the promise of 4 player simultaneous play. Yes you can pick up more than one passenger, woohoo!
No, there is no multiplayer.
Essentially, CT2 is CT. Any point in getting it?
To see how I am feeling, please refer to my tagline.
Be vocal.
No online play in MSR, Sega Rally, Daytona USA 2001. Now this.
I am most displeased, saddened and ashamed of Sega. Yes they make great games, but no, they don't give a damn about us.
>Plays Michael Jackson song of which I cannot remember title<
Ode to Sega?
Roll on the GBA and GameCube.
> Sega pulled out of publishing Black and White, Half Life and
> probably more.
Dan, no! Sega would have gone ahead, but they are not the ones responsible for letting these titles go. Lionhead and Sierra didn't think it was feasible, with the numbers of Dreamcast owners uncertain at the moment, to release a game that they will have to spend money on advertising and distributing.
Doesn't anyone listen anymore?! ;-)
> Sega pulled out of publishing Black and White, Half Life and
> probably more.
Sega were never going to publish Half life and Lionhead are on the search for another publisher, so it looks like they want it to come out anyway.

I feel let down by SEGA

Umm...Hang on, You blame Sega because of third party developers cancelling games? It's not Sega's fault -cut them some slack! They go about creating the best games in the world, but are ignored by the Sony lovers out there-most of the population. This results in poor sales and in turn means that developes cant be bothered to spend there time working for a machine that wont sell as much. Also, Sega cant advertise that much, they simply don't have the marketing budget of Sony. There money goes into creating fresh, original games and for that i think Sega have got there prioritys straight. Without games theres nothing to advertise, with games theres no cash to advertise. Half life is a sierra game-not Sega, it was sierra's idea to stop the game. As for Black and White-same story, but that hasn't been officially caaned. Head Hunter isn't due to be released for a while yet so it can't really be said to have been delayed.
Oh, and as for Phantasy Star being rubbish? Well, theres a load of people out there who are gonna disagree with you there. It's an amazing game. It's also the first of it's kind. Your in the minority there mate.
