GS:
Xbox 360 underwater action complete with diving bells and strange creatures won't be limited just to Irrational Games' upcoming opus BioShock. Chair Entertainment today announced that the submerged shooter Undertow is currently in development for Xbox Live Arcade.
Like Roboblitz, Undertow will be powered by Epic's physics-happy Unreal Engine 3. Gamers go beneath the surface of the ocean as one of four unit types, each of which has its own unique characteristics and can be upgraded.
For those who like to dive solo, the game will feature a 15-level single-player campaign, and for those who prefer company, the game has two multiplayer modes that support up to 16 players over Xbox Live.
Undertow is scheduled for release sometime this summer. Chair Entertainment has not announced a price for the game yet.
Wik is still one of my favourite XBLA games.
Last week, Microsoft surprised a few gamers by offering two new games--Gyruss and 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures--for its weekly Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays program. The increased flow of downloadable games continues again this week, as two new titles will be on Xbox Live Marketplace this Wednesday at 2 a.m. PDT.
First up is Eets: Chowdown, which jumps over from the PC to the Xbox 360 from Klei Entertainment. The 2D puzzler features Lemmings-style gameplay as users guide Eets through hazards to each stage's exit. The Xbox 360 version features a new cooperative game mode titled Marsho Madness, which sees players working together to stop an invasion of evil marshmallows.
Also up this week is Pinball FX from Zen Studios. Up to four wannabe Tommys can become pinball wizards on three 3D pinball tables that become more challenging as the game progresses. Players can opt to use the standard Xbox 360 controller to control the flippers, or they can work out their deltoids by using the Xbox Live Vision camera and making arm gestures to bounce the ball around.
Both Eets: Chowdown and Pinball FX are rated E for Everyone and retail for 800 Microsoft Points ($10) each.
I need to find some old games to trade in for MS points some time soon.
Sweet.
It's probably not as hand achingly hard as I remember as I played the demo first day I got my 360. :)
I should really get around to buying some MS points sometime, I get flashbacks of the time spent playing Super Smash TV on the Megadrive and wouldn't mind another bash.
But seeing as FFXI takes up most of my time these days, and with Forza 2 and Mass Effect looming, I think it might be money wasted.
Think I'll give Mini Golf a go, looks like it could be fun online.
