So you get to choose 30 of these and get a modded xbox. But what about the whole Xbox modding thing? I've never really been into that because copied games never played as well as originals. Will this be a problem?

Link here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/ (SPACE) ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8131117028

But you can chuck the 20 quid postage cuz i'd go pick it up.

Seams like a good deal, but quite shady at the same time.

Opinions please!

Cheers

No need to go moaning about the state of piracy in the industry, I am after all applying for several game related vacancies next year for my placement.

The thing is though, by just clicking "ignore" you're giving yourself the illusion that you're not around those who indulge in piracy... matter of fact is, they're still there. And what's worse, anti-piracy will have lost a voice since you're so busy creating your own ideal world. I mean, if we could simply eliminate a problem by ignoring it, terrorism would be long gone.

I've never had a problem with Piracy, I've even considered getting my XBOX chipped. Never gone through with it though, I'm happy with what I've got for the time being.

But there's no denying that the features offered on chipped boxes are fantastic - emulators for any console you could mention as well as arcades, media players for your MP3's and MPEG files, impressive themes and wallpapers, Internet Browsers and E-mail capabilities. And with newer ones they provide a switch to disable the chip and hence use XBOX Live. Even without this, there is a pirate version of Live available. haven't tried it myself, but people who have that I know say it is reasonable. It's all very impressive, and it brings up one simple question - why haven't Microsoft added these features to the console themselves?

All my games are paid for. I have about 25 of them. Add it up, that's about 25 X 35 = £875.

That's a bloody lot of money, and considering that if I tried to sell them now, I'd probably get a maximum of £10 each, it's not hard to see the advantages of getting your games pretty much free.

As for the moral aspect ... MEH

Well, that was a crap reply. You'll hardly make PR in paper Industry 04, let alone Nintendo at this rate.

Lol, no Dringo I wasn't going to go through with the deal anyway, just wanted to fish around abit, the user sent me a list of all the games and you can pick 30 from like a list of about 250? So theres a fair few.

Still, its abit weird. And the warrenty is invalid.

Well, I wanted to play Burnout 3, GTA:SA, and Halo 2..

If I do flog it i'll put skies on ebay cheers Tilta.

Don't forget about Rage either.

Actually, you can now get pirate Gamecube games in Glasgow. They are just mini DVDs now. It did take the pirates a while to get the games copied, which they cite as the main reason the Cube doesn't do well in Britain. Scary thing is, they might be partly right.

You can switch the chip off, which effectivley makes the console appear to LIVE as a normal machine.

Many people don't agree with piracy, but to be honest, there's nothing you can do about it, it still happens. I bet 90% of people in this thread have downloaded music one time or another.

And there was something Michael Moore said in an interview after he released Bowling for Columbine and Farenheit 9/11.

"I don’t agree with the copyright laws and I don’t have a problem with people downloading the movie and sharing it with people as long as they’re not trying to make a profit off my labour. I would oppose that,

I do well enough already and I made this film because I want the world, to change. The more people who see it the better, so I’m happy this is happening.

Is it wrong for someone who’s bought a film on DVD to let a friend watch it for free? Of course it’s not. It never has been and never will be. I think information, art and ideas should be shared."

I think that says it all really.

And put it this way, People who are unfortuanate enough to live in more poverty stricken country, their only way of affording to have the enjoyment of playing a game is to get a downloaded or pirated version.

Why deprive them of this aspect? Or would you rather keep them priced at £40
