So you get to choose 30 of these and get a modded xbox. But what about the whole Xbox modding thing? I've never really been into that because copied games never played as well as originals. Will this be a problem?

But you can chuck the 20 quid postage cuz i'd go pick it up.
Seams like a good deal, but quite shady at the same time.
Opinions please!

More likely they went bankrupt because they arent making games which are appealing to enough people.

you have a point
In the end Ubi-soft made a loss on what is described as the finest adventure title since Zelda.
Piracy means we won't get a sequel to this game, piracy means that we're unlikey to ever see Turok return to it's great routes. Piracy means that even the billion selling Playstation franchise struggles to compete profit wise with Nintendo... a company flagging in the console war.
The entire industry is a victim of piracy. Sony have to rely on income from their machine rather than the few games they publish. Microsoft rely on income from their online service, after all their system doesn't make a cent.
Nintendo are alright, it is harder to pirate Gamecube and GBA titles (pirating GBA titles, unless you put loads of old games on one cart, is hardly worth it) and so they can make money from software. But less people buy Nintendo's machine because it can't be pirated.
The Ique in China was a genius idea. Fight the pirates.
Software differs slightly because what we normally get now is a new version of an old product, so if it's not up-to-scratch, the developers will know it by flagging sales and put a bit more effort in the next year. But it's almost like an unwritten contract that we update our favourite software when the new release comes out. The older version may do the same job, but it hasn't got this year's date on it!!5

That's fine if the creator of the movie wants it that way. It's clear in this case his main motive is to get his opinion out (the movie itself is classed as a documentary). But for the majority of movies, where huuuuuge budgets are spent, a massive return on their investment is expected; at the very least they need to break even. After all, you can hardly say that Spider-Man 2 had a message that needed to be put out (crappy jokes aside).
But unlike the music industry (although it is struggling) the games industry is falling. More and more people play games, but games are costing more to make, people demand better quality, which takes more time, which costs more money... then people pirate games and then major publisher like Acclaim, Codemasters and Capcom either go Bankcrupt or start struggling.

The Nintendo iQue is a start, but there again, it's a far step from the current consoles.
If game company's lowered the price of their games to say, £10 - £15 (the price of an average album or DVD), games would become more affordable to purchase. £40 is just ridicoulous, and before people start saying "well I'm willing to pay that", maybe you have the money for that. You do, others don't.
Some people can only afford maybe 1 or 2 games a year because of this, how sad is that?
> Many people don't agree with piracy, but to be honest, there's

This is indeed true. Music downloading however, research has shown, has actually created sales. I know for instance that I buy a lot more CDs than I used to. Mainly because I know of people like Michael Angelo now.
But games aren't like that. You don't get a taster of them and then decide to buy the actual thing. You get a pirate to get out of paying for it.

I see what you are saying, and most of the big companies realise that now. Hence the Nintendo iQue. Perhaps the rest of them will indeed pay attention.
