Okay, I know that EVERYONE is hissed off at the newbies for making 20 new threads a day, each!, in the forums but why should your status prohibit you from writing your opinion in the Prime FOG?
I would like to think that I have posted quite a few half-decent posts in my time here at SR's discussion forums so why should I, and other newbies, be refused access to a particular forum when I have never tried to mis-use or deliberately annoy anyone on these forums.
I may only have posted 150 or so times but why should I have to get to 300 posts (and 7500 words) just to write in the Prime FOG? Believe it or not I mostly like to think about what I write before I start rather than just writing a whole load of cack.
I guess even on the internet you cannot escape the labels which are found in the big bad world and I just think that is a very big shame.

(This isn't a very structured argument as I just finished a 10 hour shift at work, I need my tea and I'm annoyed at not being allowed to write in the Prime FOG)

Just to summarise:
I don't want to post rubbish just to get to regular status.
Why should newbie status not allow you to post on a forum?

What next, a forum where only females can post and a forum where guys can post?

If anyone can carry this argument better than I please feel free to post in here, I'm off to get some food!

Maybe we should have a forum where only Newbies can post a new topic. Then it would be fair.

It's all a question of automation really. A sensible solution that can be operated without undue effort, and without having to make impossible selection criteria.

It's the best thing for the FOG, and you will appreciate it fully if you become a regular, which we hope you will.

If newbies can't post in the Prime FOG then it would be my understanding that they wouldn't go in there to even read anything in there. Then once they become a regular they would just post the unoriginal stuff anyway. So really all you are doing is delaying the stupid posts rather than getting rid of them.
Well that's what it appears like to me.

We're aren't stopping you from voicing your opinion. I believe you just did.

However, we are stopping you from posting topics designed only to win. Regulars have had the time to grow out of demented topic writing, only for the belief that they are "original".

AS i said the quality of the posts should be monitored so you become a regular only when you have adequate good posts.

Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
