The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
I would like to think that I have posted quite a few half-decent posts in my time here at SR's discussion forums so why should I, and other newbies, be refused access to a particular forum when I have never tried to mis-use or deliberately annoy anyone on these forums.
I may only have posted 150 or so times but why should I have to get to 300 posts (and 7500 words) just to write in the Prime FOG? Believe it or not I mostly like to think about what I write before I start rather than just writing a whole load of cack.
I guess even on the internet you cannot escape the labels which are found in the big bad world and I just think that is a very big shame.
(This isn't a very structured argument as I just finished a 10 hour shift at work, I need my tea and I'm annoyed at not being allowed to write in the Prime FOG)
Just to summarise:
I don't want to post rubbish just to get to regular status.
Why should newbie status not allow you to post on a forum?
What next, a forum where only females can post and a forum where guys can post?
If anyone can carry this argument better than I please feel free to post in here, I'm off to get some food!

No becuase that is technically construed as being racist.
:-)
I've been here for about 33 days, longer than some regulars like Bonus. Yet they still get the advantage.
Oh well.

No - the press would murder me.
RAINBIRD OR BIRDBRAIN?
In the house of commons today the honourable member for Sheepgrazingtown, Mr Tony Rainbird is said to have admitted offering a prize for the first female regular to "sit on his forums".
When questioned further Mr Rainbird became aggressive and said "FOG OFF" to a reporter.
A band of young men dressed up as animals and insects surrounded the reporters and began prodding them and offering imported Gameboys.
Mr Rainbird's political future now hangs in the balance, and he is said to be close to resigning after facing the whip.

Well that's what it

Newbies can post on FOG (Prime Topics) but they can't start a new topic.
Webby - if this is not clear in our "newbie error" message then please make it so.
