Rocks :D

Seriously, it does. But what happened to the 2-Player co-op? I can only find a battle mode. Or isn't there a co-op mode?

I thought there was.

Anyhoo, this game is fantastic. Still keeps the charm of the original, but with the addition of cool new Pikmin races and loss of time limit. The controls seem a little easier too.

Shame on those of you waiting for the UK release - IMPORT IT!!

Oh my. I sure did, didn't I?

I was referring to the fact it's coming out a year late.

Fair enough - I didn't know the specific dates on this one.

They're losing out because of translation? Balls - all they had to do was make a few changes to the US version and released it at the same time as them. They chose not to and have therefore lost potential EU sales due to importing. Their fault in the end.

I don't remember mentioning MP2:E being delayed

Or Minish Cap.

See, all that bit (except for the last line) is why I used to like you - you make some great points in there - stuff I can't really argue with. You know what you're talking about when it comes to Ninty's marketing strategies and the like.

Perhaps my gripes were because it was the games I'm most interested in that are getting delays and stuff. the few games that 'slipped the net' as you say, were the ones I was most anticipating. Obviously I'm going to jump at the chance to grab them early on import if the opportunity is there - who wouldn't?

I can see we're not going to resolve this little argument any time soon, so can we call it quits eh? You may as well have 'won' because you're the chief Nintendo Fanboy on here (that was not a dig - you claim to be one anyway) and if anyone's on the ball with the latest Nintendo news - it's you.

Let's leave it, yeah? You're a good guy who does some great topics - I'm just a casual Gamecuber who enjoys a few games here and there. Seriously, if you don't like what I post, by all means ignore me

Those are examples of Nintendo being nice to Europe but you are right. Nintendo should stop fighting importers and just spend the money releasing games faster. I think we all agree the year it took Mario Golf to get here and the 2 years for Animal Crossing is disgraceful.

But they are sorta like one offs, Pokemon Colleseum was released over here within a month of the American release and Mario Kart also got a simultaneous release.

The thing is Bullet I have just got Wario Ware, a game that came out in Japan a few months ago with four swords about the same time we got Colleseum etc...

You need to remember that Nintendo need bussiness sense. If they released Four Swords within a month of the Japanese release then the game would have been slap bang in the summer and it wouldn't sell very well. They could release it about now but then it is a lot of eggs in one basket, as in Animal Crossing, Pikmin 2, Paper Mario 2 and Metroid Prime 2 all this year... Four Swords would be more ideal to the March period (where games traditionally sell well).

The Americans are just about to get Second Sight, a game we've had for a few weeks. We are about to get Pikmin 2... a game they've had for a few weeks. If Pikmin 2 was released today both Second Sight and Wario Ware would lay unfinished till the end of time in my collection.

So why Import? Nintendo aren't great at it but they do try and stagger releases in such a way that we don't need to import. Granted summer is a bit slow but I'm too busy playing the games I got back in Easter to notice.

Under pressure from European criticism over the late release of the Gamecube Nintendo released Mario Sunshine in October in Europe. The game made NO impact on the Christmas market, it is still the Gamecube's worse Christmas with the awful Starfox Adventures and Mario Party 4 trying to keep sales going... Eternal Darkness was the only top release.

Now if Nintendo had waited an extra month till November then Nintendo would have a AAA release for Christmas. This my friend is good bussiness sense, granted we'd be slightly miffed for waiting longer than needed, but it is a good decision to release the game then as Gamecube sales would increase and Mario Sunshine would have been the game of 2002.

As it happens Hitman 2 outsold it and Nintendo had a ruddy awful Christmas.

Paper Mario 2, despite the translation issues, could probably be released for Early september... but that doesn't make sense. Why release it early september when Wario Ware comes out, surly Nintendo should wait to help bolster sales around Christmas. Same with Donkey Konga, that's been ready since August... fully playable version was at Gamestars live.

The reason for the late October release? Because it's a more succesfull season, more people buy Games and consoles.

Sure in an ideal world we'd get the games a week or 2 later than Japan... but considering the Japanese had the Gamecube a year longer than we did we realistically should expect getting the games a year later.

Do we? No? Is it really THAT bad? No... a few games slip the net and we are forced to wait too long (again Mario Golf and Animal Crossing), but most of the time it is exactly as we expected.

So you stop whinging.

Whinge whinge whinge, Jesus Christ. Why the hell you're kissing the backside of a company that doesn't really give a toss about EU is beyond me. If they want to take 2 goddamn years to release Animal Crossing, 1 year to release Pikmin 2 and however long to release Paper Mario 2 then it's their loss when we import. They're not helping the situation much. We don't even have Zelda Four Swords in the UK yet.

Suit yourself if you don't want to import - I'm sure you'll be just fine waiting an age to play outdated games.

*waits for fanboy backlash*

Lighten up FFS.

It's not an RTS really though...

More of a puzzle game.

The only things Pikmin can do themselves is carry something home, or sense something within a radius. You can't send them on missions. They simply follow you and you lob them at things.

As stupid as it sounds, it's fantastic.
