Most sports games now allow you to team up against either a computer character, or other human players, and it can be quite fun, as well as very frustrating.
You feel good when you work together to score a goal, but it can't half be frustrating when your partner hits a shot straight at the keeper when youwere in a great position.
I guess that this, however, actually makes the game more realistic. In a team game there are always going to be others on your team that don't do the things the way you'd like them to, and fair enough, sometimes it works out for the best!
What about other genres though? Some games have co-op modes, but not nearly enough. It would certainly add a bit more to the challenge if you also had to keep an inferior player alive!
Mind you, would a game that was mainly to be played as a co-op game sell? I'm not sure that it would, but then again, internet gaming is a hive for co-operation, with team games, and online RPG's encourage you to travel with others.
Then again, sometimes it's just more fun to beat your friends rather than work together!
When someone says You, that is what you quote, but then again, you must be memorised by my splendour!!
I can't see how after what it did to him! - Ulgh!
I am a loser

Natalya!
Game!
*Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss etc.*
She wasn't exactly a major asset to the 'team' although she could put a few magnum rounds into Xenia whilst you ran like a turkey! - Useful Tip there!
Game
AI co-op.
In Goldeneye, why did Natalya have to tag along on half of the missions? She always got in the way, and went running ahead into rooms full of enemies. Mind you, shooting her right in the face was always a good source of amusement!
Example:
Playing Counterstrike last night, there was me and 3 others.
We covered each other through doorways, one keeping eye behind etc and we owned that level and took down anyone that we cam across, simply because we had every angle covered.
Similarly, one player had the hostages and was making a run for the safety zone, 3 people covering him...to a point.
One stopped and shot a chicken, the other jumped like a kangaroo and sprayed his logo on the top of a wall.
These two then faced each other and knifed each other in the body over and over, whilst the hostage taker got shot in the face as he almost got home.
Co-Op can be good, but the fun comes from utterly ruining your team-mates chances.
because it's funny
4 player co-op bank raid.
1 gets the car, the others do the bank raid.
You can just imagine it, the 3 go running into the bank, and come out with all the cash in record time.
Then they realise that their driver has chosen a Lada as a getaway vehicle.
Then he drives it straight into a tree.
You can imagine the abuse he'd get?
It would be great fun!
