The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Every day, you could come on, and there would be... six, perhaps five new topics. Each of them would be excellently written, discussing new points. It was interesting to see what people had thought of, and it would be fun to argue the points.
That was six months ago. Since then, what's happened?
About 20 new topics are created every day, about two of which are worth reading. Regulars are dropping like flies, and some of the most respected of people on the forum don't come on any more.
In my opinion, the legacy of the FOG's have fallen. We do little more than chat pointlessly now. Even the stories, which have kept me here for the past six months, seem pointless these days.
What used to be a cozy forum, with people coming on and winning games, then leaving, with the handful of regulars who were always guaranteed to turn up every night, has turned into a mass of people, all chattering with no thought for entertainment, with only a good one or two topics every day.
As I join the likes of ssxpro, Wookiee Monster, FantasyMeister, Sniper, by leaving, I make this topic not so I can flatter myself with people telling me not to leave, but I make this topic because it's important that the FOG does not get any more worse than it already is. I hope that by showing people are not interested in the FOG these days, I hope that something can be done to bring the quality of the forums back to the greatness that it once was.
But... I shall not be handing in my resignation as a notable. Make what you want of this, but I have my reasons.

Sniper, please stay, come on less frequently if your discouraged, but dont leave.
Some people need to mature, here, its getting to the point where the only way you can win Gameaday is by posting a review that nobody else can reply to. These forums are a place to disscuss, not make one word replies like. PS2 rules, X-box is Cr*p

Its not OK to say the "PS2 is S**t" , Ever.
If you spent hours making a post over why the Dreamcast is great then I replied saying
"The Dreamcast is S**te"
That would annoy you, and discourage you from spending time writing quality posts.
No machine is S**te, if you believed that then you would gladly swap that machine for two pieces of S**te because it would be twice as good.
Machines can be dissapointing, overhyped, expensive but never S**te.
Mature, please otherwise these forums will close and you will never get a chance to win Gameaday. Its not hard to not swear.

i think swearing is allright if you use it in th right manner. okay things like sayin the PS2 is sh!te as a one post is alright but it should be okay to say that "I think the PS2 has a .............."
Sniper you need to stay, you post intelligent comments and start great topics. Perhaps what is needed is a new forum where only notables and selected regulars have access, to post here you would have to agree to stringent rules such as no swearing or spamming. It may be the only way.
The Forum needs to improve, Ive seen comments like PS2 is Sh!te or, Dreamcast is Rubbish posted as one sentence replys to intelligent topics.
This needs to stop, people should try to explain their views, without swearing, dont destroy topics by being vulgar. Only intelligent replys will ever win Gameaday, so please stop destroying the forums with vulgarity (apologise to those intelligent posters), youll ruin the forums for everyone including yourself.

Truth is nothing lasts forever. Everything has its time, and everything will turn to dust. There are no exceptions to this, not even these forums.
I'm considering leaving now, this forum isn't getting nowhere yet, and i'm not getting good responses from my posts anyway, all you people mostly say is 'Oh my god a Sniper post!'. I'm really sick of seeing that and it is putting me off this site, everytime i do something original.
