Well it seems like a tour de force for Miserableman and Co.

This is probably going to be the first PC game I'll have bought since Warcraft 3 came out. Who else is likely to pick it up?

Hurray! I got it this morning through the post and have been playing pretty much non stop all day. Fantastic game, the battles are nothing short of amazing, in fact no strategy game has ever, and will not (for a while) recreate such amazing battles as Rome: Total War has done here. I love the castle sieges as well, such an improvement over Medieval.

And the new command map is excellent, I love the new graphics and animations, and you can finally trade, broker alliances and ask for assistance from allies to smite your enemies. I've barely scratched the surface of this game, it's going to keep me busy for a fair while.

I think the Rome demo was purposly made a little tat, that way there was still plenty to look forward to in the full version as the demo only gives you a brief taste.

The Medieval demo was also poop, it gave you troops you'd never used before and just let you defend hopelessly against an army twice your size.

The full game rock though, the latest issue of PCGamer has a huge fold out advertisement at the front. "Epic" doesn't even begin to describe the size of the game.

I really didn't like the demo at first, but after a few more plays, I really got into it. Just doing the same battle over and over was pretty fun.

Anyway, I picked this up today and yeah, it's wonderful.

It was pi*s. The game told you what to do (if you couldn't work out a simple hammer/anvil aattack) and you just waited 15 seconds, then attacked.

But the game will rule all RTS ever.

Heh demo's aren't really anything I love Rollercoaster Tycoon but the RCT 3 demo was too limited to enjoy it, but I can see myself playing it if I could build more STUFF!

Not lately I haven't. All the games I've REALLY loved lately have been Xbox games. Halo, PGR2 etc. But the one thing that consoles lack is good stategy games - the last good one was Command & Conquer on the Saturn, around 8 years ago.

In saying that, I did say last game I bought. I've played Half Life etc since then. Borrowed Doom 3.

I'm trying to figure out a way of unlocking the copy of Half Life 2 I currently have on my hard drive. Gotta love steam at times.

Not come through the post this morning for me, hopefully tomorrow. In the mean time I'm being consumed by Dawn of War, which has exceeded my expectations.
