Well it seems like a tour de force for Miserableman and Co.

This is probably going to be the first PC game I'll have bought since Warcraft 3 came out. Who else is likely to pick it up?

I should get around to playing this soon...

This game is wonderful. It really is.

Yay, I'm the most advanced faction, and have the biggest armies. Almost conquered the Gauls, then I'm after the Spanish after the Senate forced me into a war with them. I'll have much of Spain and France under my control when I'm done.

ARGH MY DISC IS BROKED.

So I'm gonna get a free replacement, thanks to Activision's 3 Month CD replacement...

Ah, this game is spectacular.

I'm going to go all out for the Gauls soon, right now I think I'll pick at a few easy Carthaginian and rebel provinces. Bleedin rebel traipsing all over my territory like they own the place, they're heavy infantry doesn’t even wear (much) clothes, even in winter.

Hehe...

Just conquered all of Gaul.

I use dogs to hunt down retreating armies now, bloody fast and very, very vicious. I sent one group of dogs to attack some town militia who where fighting some of my other troops. I've never seen so many bodies fall in one attack, they just swept through them. Admittedly it was only Town Militia I sent them to kill but still, very effective.

You have to keep them close by though, they all have handlers who give them commands and if they run off after a retreating army and get too far from their masters, there's little to no way to get them back.

On Medieval, one of my perverse delights was crushing peasant rebellions with the most lethally equipped, trained and honed war machine possible - highly trained/armored Halberdiers, Royal Knights, Men-At-Arms, Feudal Knights etc.

1,200 peasants vs 300 troops. It was an absoloute slaughter, every time.

The Gauls are starting to really pish me off. I've recently got a foothold in their territory by capturing two settlements and all they do is throw wave after wave of hopeless attacks to retake them.

I don't mind killing thousands of their useless so called soldiers, I quite like sending out my cavalry to hunt down the hundreds that retreat at the slightest sign of defeat (usually within second of their idiot General trying to take on more powerful soldiers), but every battle I’ve been in so far with the Gauls, I've won. They don't seem to see the hopelessness in constantly attacking my provinces, and it's slowing down my progression through the rest of their primitive country.

Still, I did laugh when some Gaulish cavalry began attacking some of my less able bodied troops, with the message "only a fool could loose this battles". They lost.
