I'm sure people could say that Nintendo made Mario, but if asked "So which person made him", many would guess at "Mr. Nintendo?". On the otherhand, if you asked someone, "Who is the Terminator", or "Who directed ET" they would give the answers "Swartzeneger" and "Speilberg".
If games are truely to become as big as films, do you think that we will see E3 on TV like the Canne Film Festival? Will the Edge games awards be as celebrated as the Oscars? And, coming back to my original point, will Shigsy be as well known as Speilburg?
What are your opinions?

Many older people see gaming as a pastime for "geeks" who spend most of their time locked up in a bedroom with only a joypad for a friend. Now, this stereotyping isn't exactly unfounded, (has anyone actually seen the guy who made Manic Miner??? Jeeeessusss!) but no longer exists nowadays, partly because of Sony.
Here's my theory:
Gaming is still young. It only became mainstream 5 years ago, but look where it's come from then! It's fair to say that it's progressing much faster than films were, but: If you remember, when films first came out, they were seen as things for "young whipppersnappers", going to see "chick flicks" before heading towards Make Out Point(tm). But when these teenagers grew up, films were accepted to them, their kids, and everyone else.
I believe that seeing as almost every kid sees gaming as a socially acceptable hobby, this will grow up with us and in 20 or so year's time, we will be seeing "Exclusive live footage from E3 2021".
Let's just wait and see.
Cybernet has some reviews over the next few weeks about it so i'm gona keep watching.
Maybe convergience to on single standard format... like VCRs now conform to one standard... I think this will happen with consoles eventually
