I actually should have said "buy anything from PC World again".
I've bought some hardware from there a couple of times. What I thought were nice, cheap OEM drives.
Then I found out that a lot of the stuff that they sell as 'new' OEM is actually reconditioned stuff they've had back and fixed up. Hence 2 HD failures.

A candidate for more honest sloganing that one...I suggest:-
"Currys - Always lowering standards"
or
"Currys - Always cutting corners"

Spot on Mr Cong...lets face it, having to "deal" with the public isn't high on anyone's wants list in a career and I doubt PC World pay much above the minimum wage per hour.
Having said that (and I'm not lying), I took my MAXX PC into the SR Chelmsford store before it shut down and the guy who looked at it (no older than 17-18) didn't have a clue.
He took out the blank slots of RAM because "they don't need to be in there"...
Needless to say the next day when I went back in the "REAL" PC repair guy was there and he apologised ;)

*shrug* There's sometimes some killer bargains from PC world. Who cares if they don't know about the products.

Yeah, but Currys are now training all their staff in the use of electronic goods - if you believe their adverts.
Well done, guys... so you admit that for the last 120 years or so, you've been hocking goods to the public which you had absolutely no idea about, and therefore no ability to provide suitable after-sales support.
I've never bought electrical items from them, and I never will. Same goes for Dixons and a few others. It's also the reason I'd never buy anything computer-related from PC World.
All the staff are employed based on their lack of technology knowledge and their ability to look busy when anyone, other than 70 year old grannies who can be talked into buying anything, wants to be served...
