Just been down to Woolworths, Blockbuster, Asda and Whsmiths and all of them are waiting for delivery of stock. Stupid Woolworths got my hopes up by putting out the empty boxes on the shelves and then told me that they haven't received any stock yet.

Along with that though Gameplay, Play.com and a few other webistes don't have any stock either. For such a big game it's not exactly a very impressive launch.

Anyway, just phoned Gamestation and they've got stock so I'm off to catch a bus into Liverpool city center.

It might not be a long game but it's a f***ing treck to get it on release day.

Yeah, but why would they be sold out so soon - as in, first thing on the day of release?

They wouldn't.

So a stock problem would either be the fault of the retailers, or the publishers.

Sort of. But I recently traded in two copies of both Mech Assault and Solder of Fortune II for 7.50 a copy. Now a year ago I bought a second copy of SOF2 for 9.99.

Also just as Sims 2 came out I sold Sims bustin' out for 16 quid at the same trader.

Draw your own conclusions (or mine: They aren't going to sell 'em at double what they buy them at which is what they're trying to do).

I'm much like yorself. I hardly ever buy games anymore, I just trade in old titles that I've completed/got bored with. Of course they'll sell the game at a higher price than they gave me, but if I get enough for what I want, I couldn't care less what they do.

Pikmin 2 sold out rather quickly too.

It also didn't get much mention in the game shops.

I popped into 2 GAME's it wasn't even in the new releases section.

Whilst there were 5 shelves filled with copies of FIFA.
