What you have been saying is not irony.
'The use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning.'
That's the definition of irony. If you think what you have been saying or what I have been saying is ironic in the slightest then you're just being lazy, not bothered to come up with a decent reply. Irony's just a stupid buzz word you guys all use for some stupid reason.
If you're meaning that I am the one with a trumped-up sense of self-importance, than that's flat out horsecrap, jack. Unless you feel you need to be the pinnacle of academia to say anything in your presence.
We all go through the "annoying little newbie stage"...
They're just learner drivers.

Very well done. Now; consider the exact wording of what I initially said to you.
Could it be....could it just maybe be that those words had a meaning...well, opposite to the literal one? D'you think?
Of course, the fact that you've since gone on a self-important me-monkey rampage in full-blown Crikeyvision means that you genuinely HAVE proved the truth of what I was saying, but that's by the by.

No, not so; I rather think the fact that you feel the need to try and continually justify your reaction to something you misunderstood rather than simply saying "whoops; my bad" indicates your sense of self importance.
Do you see?

Now that's self importance. ;o)

Hmm...you know, that could be phrased better couldn't it? Give me a minute...
Oh, and Light, the edited version was much better. "Full blown Crikeyvision" will definitely be used by me over the weekend :-)

Heh. Hope it came in useful.
