Don't laugh. It's not Clubland. It's not Eric Prydz. It's not Cheese.

Anyone here share a passion for real electronica music? Tell me favourite bands or more precisely, producers. Or, if you like, underground or alternative rock.

UW.

I've gone off hard dance for a while. I'm not ashamed to say I like trance when it's done right! Paul Galzby is a bit too hard and fast for me, but BK's 'Playing With Knives' tune earlier this year is probably one of those harder tracks that has stood out for me this year.

Sorry - never heard it before.

I've never heard of it either! Tunes like Steve Lawler's 'That Sound' will be big.

Big headed? Too right. =0 . He did a mix for mixmag - Subliminal Sessions Classics - brilliant house music. It's a perfect, cheese-free selection of some of the better house music that came out when Trance dominated '99.

Lab4 do the really hard trance stuff, don't they? Their 'Reqeium' tune first came into my head as soon as I read it.

Ultraviolence is a bit of Drum N' Bass / Speedcore stuff (I think), which one of my friends listens to that with Napalm Death and ENT. It's alright, but I prefer Aphex twin when it comes that style. Thanks for the info.

Finger Lickin' Label is quality. I'm still playing Soul Of Man's 'Shake Em' Down' sometimes in a house/breaks set.

I got to www.djdownload.com for some of their stuff. Have you had a listen to their album 'Saturday Night Lotion' ? Is it as good has 'Eargasm' ?

Oh, Green Velvet is a legend. No question.

I can't say I'm a fan of the John Peel CD, not 'me'. And of those you listed, I haven't had a proper listen to them, although I have them on my comp. My favs have to be Andy C and Hype (fabriclive.18), Bugz in the Attic (fabriclive.12), the Plump DJs (fabriclive.08) [even if it's just for 'squeeks and bleeps'], Joe Ransom (fabriclive.20) and the Scratch Pervs (fabriclive.22) [great tune selection, unfortunate mixing. it really doesn't showcase what they're like live in terms of mix ability]

I'm actually a member of FabricFirst http://www.fabriclondon.com/label/fabricfirst.php , fabric's membership scheme. I'm down there pretty regularly, and so the queue jumping thingy is nice (ever seen the queue at fabric? legendary), and there's access to a whole load of pretty good music up there for streaming, and the CDs are a great bonus. If anyone wants any of the Fabric CDs, I (as a member) can get em for £6 a pop. Just drop me a line here, and I'll sort it out for ye, if ye want. :)

I too am a big fan of the Fabriclive compilations, my favourite are Deadly Avenger, Meat Katie and The Freestylers. Gotta put ion a word for the John Peel one too, an extraordinry piece of eclecticism.

Indeed. I recently bought Subliminal Sessions 8 and it's superb (although CD 2- mixed by Steve Angello & Sebastian Ingrosso- kicks the crap out of CD 1).

Speaking of Erick Morillo, have you heard Subliminal Sessions One? Tis getting on a bit, but its still bloody good.

EDIT: As far as more commercial house goes, I heard a track called 'How Shall I Rock Thee' by 'Cloud 9' when I was in a local club t'other day. I absolutely love it.
