Thanks for your help so far, but im still a bit confused. When I connect one of my devices to my PC (via USB) a little balloon in the corner of my screen comes up saying something I cant remember, but it basically says my USB port is slow.

What I want to know is whether I have to change my current USB port (which is probably something like 1.0) to a USB 2.0 port?

Im confusing myself now. :S

This is to tnc's last post.

Yes, you do. But you can't upgrade the existing ports. You need a new PCI card with USB ports on, or a new motherboard.

However, he is slightly correct in the sense that some USB cables used to not be USB2 capable, though I believe all are now. Still would be worth checking though.

Riiight so is there not a way I can just buy a 2.0 port? If so, how much will it cost me? Just read Nimco's post, so how much will the card cost.

Hmm ... all my previous laptops and computers have detected USB 1.1s and said they were fine, likewise saying the 2.0 was.

I assume you will have to upgrade then.

Cheers, the only problem I have is putting the card in my computer. I could probably do it with some guidance as I know how to open up my computer, but I have no idea where to put the card.

Thanks anyway.

It's a PCI card, right?

PCI slots on a motherboard are near the bottom corner of the motherboard nearest the back of the case. They are long, and usually white. Or if you have a nice-looking UV-reactive motherboard, they're likely to be bright yellow.
