HERE ARE THE RESULTS OF THIS COMPETITION. I have read ALL the entries!

A lot of entries mentioned things which have generally been discussed before or are in the pipeline. They include:
User Profiles
Polls
Walkthroughs and Game Guides
Highest Scores
Who is currently posting
Splash Plastic (which is too expensive for us to do)
Online Reddies
Logos and Ringtones (see UKphonetones.com)
Genre search for games
Tell a Friend.

It just goes to show how busy we are that we are unable to get many of the above into place. But hey, expenditure is controlled by income (hint).

I liked Darkness' idea about tutorials, and Mantis made the suggestion to have a "Gamesmaster" of the forums based on competitions for high scores.

Cookie Monster wants people to be able to promote their website (we already offer this for Freeola customers) and he also suggests that we have an office pet which is monitored with a web cam (brilliant).

Monkey_with_Attitude suggests a "most played games of the week" counter on UKgames.com.

Freak of the Dark says our logo should "move or something".

Turbonutter reckons we should run Flash games and this is supported by Shaneo who says we should run SR Arena and give prizes to the best players. Turbonutter also tells us that we are lacking on PC game specification of the type you find on the back of the box and Swish extends this to a link under each title.

CDouch is a "man of a thousand ideas", mostly on the button too. He lists: Information on gaming from around the world, more mini sites like UKgt3, kids corner, celebrity visits and better organised release info including more information on unreleased games (to name but a few of his suggestions).

The rules (written by Kendozod) state "exciting and would attract a lot of visitors".

THE WINNERS ARE:
CDouch for MORE INFORMATION ON UNRELEASED GAMES.
Turbonutter for FLASH GAMES.

Many thanks for all of your participation and, for the time being, I promise not to confuse the issue by holding any other similar competition.

All the obove written by Tony (The Judge)

************

Below are the original rules written by Kendozod

New Site Features.

Tony has let me loose to post a new and exciting competition!
So here goes:

This competition is for all of you to think up new features for our websites. We already have cheats, clips, demos, discussions etc but are there other features you would like us to add?

The aim here is for the feature to be low admin maintenance and low in cost (obviously!) but be exciting and would attract lots of visitors.

They can be fun, educational, business, reference, silly, cool - anything as long as they NOT sexual or violent in nature.

This competition is open for 1 month and the best ideas that we USE will win a game as part of GAMEADAY. If no ideas are used then I will pick 1 winner that I deem the best.

CLOSING DATE: 8th July 2001

So get thinking and posting. Remember, your suggestions could make a difference!

Ok, so there has been competitions for short storys hasn't there.

Well, how about if there was a forum dedicated to short stories? Except, instead of someone thinking up of a story for themselves, Tony, or someone else could put a title for a story that everyone must think up a story for. Get me?

Ok, so when you click into this story dedicated forum, instead of having loads of topics - there's just one huge banner saying "A day in the office". This title will be invented by a judge or someone.

So once the title for that day's short story competition has been posted, everyone who'd like to have a go, simply clicks on: 'Start Story', instead of "New topic".

And last but not least, this competition will be a totally separate competition form GAD or FAD. But to be kind, once a week a winner will be picked. That way, you can have more time to think up an original idea. Special reserve will only have to give away something free once a week for this compo.

As others have said, this will encourage newbies, or even regulars to write a lot more and have a go at trying to be more inventive.

I hope this will be a good idea.

Thanks, Shocky.

Why not use the forums for a fanstasy football kind of thing where each member is given a team and you can exchange players etc and leave messages by forum. A prize can be given away for Champion.

Special reserve should have a chat room where messages can be put across faster. SR should also improve their forums, take a look a boards.ign.com and you'll see how great a forum and communtiy they have. I'm not flaming the forum here but it just seems a bit lame in comparison to other boards (now i've done it i've offended the staff).

I think Gameday reviews should be rated like Filmday reviews and the best one would win but to avoid any blatant cheating i.e voting low scores to get your review noticed they have to post comments/feedback so the reviewer knows what's good and bad about his review and make it better next time.

The competitions should be varied a bit more than judgeing peoples writing ability because more people are winning more than one and up to nine times. I'm not the worst writer but I am certainly not the best. Two of my reviews here of Super Mario Advance and Command and Conquer got 'review of the day' at videogamereview.com so I don't know what i'm doing wrong. I suggest having other competitions like game scores or something else.

I think that the reddy system needs to be improved somehow myself, theres nothing their which really grabs me, when i recieve a reddy i just think "oh another reddy". I shouldn't think that, should I?

I said that!

It's a good idea though. But then later on I thought that the reddies system should be incorporated into the online one so there is a choice of sending them or using them online. Each reddy has a code which is matched online and if either the online reddies or paper reddies are used, then the system gets updated with the number of reddies you have left.

Why not make extra reddies available online for something?

Maybe a user could reach a certain point in discussions or post a number of good reviews or something?

Or maybe exclusive 'online only' reddies.

www.conkula.homestead.com/cwf

it is a hugely popular CWF game by me based around but i'm aware of the complications the game creates with undoubtably so many members!

So in other words make a game, it could be an RPG and we could overthrow forums, Battle against computer controlled staff, low levels easy to beat higher not so easy, gain points rise higher levels, over throw forums, www.glitchless has a similar game that is excellent and hugley popular, Ukgames has discussions a shop but don't have games!

Even better have the option to battle over SR in internet gaming!

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
I am delighted.
Brilliant! As usual the careful and intuitive production that Freeola puts into everything it sets out to do. I am delighted.
