Is Fable really worth getting taking into consideration the next few months?
I have the DS on pre-order, Halo 2 and Prince of Persia 2 on pre-order, my US PS'TWO' arriving this week with KillZone, GTA San Andreas and Xenosaga 2 on pre-order as well as Metal Gear 3 and Gran Turismo 4.
I don't want any 'ums' or 'ahhs', I just want a straight forward, honest, quick and dirty paragraph to sum up the game, both pros and cons and whether or not you actually think it is worth getting.

It's my opinion though.
It's the best offline experience I've had since OOT and Banjo Tooie. As good as some the games of this generation have been, nothing has got me this involved or excited about playing, unlike Fable.

Fair enough.
It's a damn good game.
Toughened up my Mage a bit. But because I haven't upgraded his strength battles can take a while, however I've now discovered the Force Push and Slow Time spells which, with my fireballs and swordplay, are enough to defeat things in a satisfying way,and the battles have improved because they're now a challenge and I have to use my skills constantly to maintain the upperhand. :)

Maybe I'll play through it with just a stick as my melee weapon at some point. :-) Might buy the title of A**eface for him too. Gotta do a cool evil game first though. ;-)

Fable sounds like Harvest Moon.
I'm sure if you power up your character ansh vae cool non-combat skills you can make it through with a stick. :)
