Think is, it was right in the ref's face, and that ref always has been a stickler for dissent.

Rooney deserved to go, I'm sorry to say. Still, a point away from home against possibly the second strongest team in the group, not a bad result.

Ah well, I'd have given him a warning. I mean, fair enough, it was dissent, but he'd been fairly sporting up until the booking, and it was just two frustrated claps. Players usually expect a ticking-off before the cards come out.

I said it was Rooney's fault, didn't I? At the end of the day, he's sent off and he was in the wrong. I can't criticise the ref, I was just a bit surprised.

Ah well i would have been happy with a draw pre-game, though that was before i found out Riquelme wouldn't be playing, but after the way United played tonight a draw was far more than they deserved. Hardly anyone had a good game.
