For those of you that play football.

Think it's about time to get a new pair of footy boots. Have been looking around and have my eye on a few different pairs.
Wanted to know what those of you who play are wearing at the moment and why. How comfy they are, what they cost etc

Thank ye

Think we'll have to agree to disagree.

If you're hoofing it up the pitch, you could be wearing anything, really. They wouldn't choose adidas specifically for wildly flailing at the ball.

Also, why would adidas boots be used more for tackling?

Not necessarily.

For fit perhaps, but for logical selection, tacklers and hoofers want Adidas, strikers and dribblers want Nike.

Technically, but not always true. Many passers prefer Adidas, then again they tend to be centre mids.

EDIT:

I'm a defensive player, but Adidas boots don't fit me so...

It's all in the mind - they only slightly improve your play, and usually that's because of slightly better grip or fit. A defender might prefer Nikes, while a forward might prefer Adidas boots - it completely depends on your feet.

I agree with Georgey though.

Adidas boots I find are far more rigid and uniform. Nike's tend to have flexy shapes and boots that are very soft and slightly thinner.

To this extent, I agree that Adidas boots in general are more suited to defenders, unlike Nikes for strikers and wingers.

I had some really cheap (pos. fake?) Nike Total 90 boots until yesterday, strangely enough, when they broke.

They were the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. They weren't perfect to play in, but I had the for 4 years because they were so damn nice.

I have recently ordered a pair of the white cheap version of the mercurial vapours now...

EDIT:

I just don't buy high end boots OK? They're just a rip off.

But here's the link:

You didn't think of cleaning them instead?
