I often think about the history of these forums, and how things used to be. That's not to say they've declined in quality over the years, but as with most things, you keep them going long enough and you'll find people complaining that things ain't what they used to be.

Anyway, I got to remembering some of the good times while bored at work today (a regular occurence) and yeah, it might be a bit sad, but some of the memories really did make me smile. UKchatforums.com must be my most visited website ever (still my homepage) and despite it just being a collection of poorly-designed .gif images and text-speak, sometimes it genuinely manages to make me laugh out loud (LOL).

So... in the spirit of one of my Shiznit lists, I want your top UKchatforums.com moments of all time, from throughout history - it can be favourite users, brilliant moments of realisation or just your favourite threads. I'll get us kicked off with a few memories that brightened up my day.

THE BELLDANDY SAGA - I've never had so much fun berating someone over the internet as I did with Belldandy. Probably still floating around somewhere under a newly mysterious (very probably Manga-related) username, Belldandy was NEVER WRONG. Even if he was, he wasn't. And if he really was, then he'd run away and not come out to play, until the next time he was wrong. It came close to bullying at a few points (I used to get his emails) but it was coming from both sides: Goaty, Light, Pandy, myself and others (all anti-war and common sense) versus the one man righteous army of Belldandy.

The Belldandy saga reached a hilarious conclusion, when on one of his many mysterious reappearances under another nick (HALO Fan), he was sussed by the lot of us and nevertheless proceeded to dispute it for several months, despite have all the curt mannerisms and blind flag-wankery that good old Bell had. It stopped being fun when we finally saw a picture of him on Special Observe, then realised our physical name calling was disturbingly prophetic.

There have been others, but none as more fun to bait as Belldandy.

Anyone else remember the Asian Prince???

er-no claiming he got off with Keira Knightley in all seriousness.

Tony (that's Tony, the Managing Director of SR) at #5 in the all time posters list.

Bell arguing about Kapos and getting teared a new chute.

El Robin going all spastic when we changed the design of the forums, claiming it looked horrible when all we did was change something from a light grey to a greyish pastel purple colour.

A lot of those memories make me smile as I remember most of them. One of the threads that sticks most in my mind was when Goatboy went on a rant about blokes taking their manhood back and to stop being so wuzzy - Male... (something or other) but I can't find it.

Spending hours posting in a puzzle thread - posted so much in it that I became a regular.

Really most of the other things that made me laugh have already been mentioned or would mean nothing to anyone but me.

It's from the day Khazar was banned. MJ were you MJSwerve? If so you say some stuff in there.

From that post I realised what an a**-hole I was, at the time I was 12 - an age at which I shouldn't have actually used these forums. I used the exact same sentence structure as Crossbob which didn't exactly help.

Whatever happened to Turbonutter?
Is he here under a different name? I enjoyed reading his posts.

Heh, I see it as an achievement of being here over 1600 days and not being banned.

I don't actually want to go back and look at how I posted, I must have been 11 when I first posted on these forums.

Well I've just spent like an hour reading and browsing the achive and all I can say is I'm ashamed by how I used to post, just had a weird way of wording things. Highlight was finding a topic I wrote when I was about 15 I suppose about problems at school and with friends etc. which made me cringe, and people think I'm emo now. Sparked my memory about NintyUK however, whatever did happen to that site.

We should publish those threads as a book one day. I don't think I've ever laughed so much. The afternoon that she first visited the thread gets my vote for the forum's finest hour, and I've been here since the launch. Although the fact that our forum's greatest day was based on an admission of statutory rape does disturb me more than a little.
