"Outrun demo big letdown."

Finally got some money the other day, so the first thing I did was buy The Warriors on DVD and this month's OXM. Was going to get OPS2, with their promises of Killzone, but Outrun 2, Kingdom Under Fire and Conflict: Vietnam seemed worth it more. How wrong I was.

Outrun is a dull racing game. Not a bad one, and it looks very pretty, but when compared with Burnout 3 ...well, there is no comparison. Kingdom Under Fire was good, but it's just Dynasty Warriors 3 with different characters. I like DW3, so I'll stick with that. Conflict: Vietnam was the only good one out of the bunch, but then that's just another rehash of the Conflict series of games - different characters, different location. So I lost interest in that pretty quickly, as I've played the other two Conflict games to death.

Oh, and Men Of Valour was crap. It looked crap, and had all the excitement of weeing into a sock. At one point after easily getting to the top of the hill, I felt myself getting shot at. So I composed myself, reloaded my gun, then turned around (whilst still getting shot), and the enemy VC was stuck running against my player on the spot, whilst trying to shoot me at point blank range. That's the sort of lazy AI I hate. And the bodies vanish - I hate that too. It's the Xbox, for f**k's sake - look at Halo. Half the fun of that game is sticking grenades on corpses and watching them fly. Lazy AI, lazy graphics, lazy cross-console port. F**kers.

Haven't played the demo, but I bought the game and think it's excellent. Solid arcade racing fun.

i love the ops2 demos recently but the OFXM domes have been going downhill

Anyone saying Outrun 2 is "so easy" is talking utter crap. You wanna try some of the challenges half way through, they make Burnout 3 look easy. Of course the gameplay is "old". It's staying faithfull to the original game. Yeah the graphics are average and until the Live play is sorted it's a bit of a letdown but the single player mode is fun and challengings if you play the challenges. Each to their own though.

I never played the first one, won't play the new one. Not that I have a deep hatred towards it, I just can't find it appealing.

Outrun 2 is an arcade game. It sucks so hard.

I played it at Virgin and it's so pathetically easy and stupid. Very clunky controls and truly woeful sound effects.

Def Jam 2 - Very good but quite easy

Leisure Suit Larry - Rather stupid. A big letdown as it should have been much better than it is.

Kindgom Under Fire - Excellent game. Well worth buying

Outrun one was crap and in all honesty did you expect this to be better? It really never was gonna be good.

This says it all for Men of Valor: at the end of the demo, I'd been shot 55 times, yet I still finished it.

CDS 4 player on Cube was the best evah.
