Surprised to see Stevie II in there. Good to see Luke Young getting a chance, Carrick too.
That's what the crowd will be chanting, as he cuts inside Gabbidon and slots a left-footed beauty into the net.
Hargreaves will soak up the attacking vim of Jason Koumas as Warnock herds Giggs into the byline.
Oh yes, the old 4-1-3-1-1. Classic formation.

Thank god you don't pick the team...
Carra-Terry-Ferdinand-Warnock
Hargreaves
Lampard-Gerrard-Cole
Rooney
Owen
The old 4-1-3-1-1.

Nope. Dawson should have been in ahead of him...
However SWP pulled out of the squad, and Mickey Owen is banned for Wales!
This 4-3-3 type formation does appear to be popular at the momment with Fergie and Jose big fans, so it must be doing something right!
----------------------------- ROBINSON -----------------------------------

It's kind of a 4-3-3, just can't set it out right on here. Maybe having Defoe where Wright-Phillips is.
However now Terry has pulled out, its most likely that carragher will be moved inside, and I fear P Neville will be given the RB role. Still probably preferable to Glen Johnson, but not ideal.
I would also have liked to see Carrick holding with Lampard playing more advanced, but it looks like Stevie G will be fit after all.
Still I would like to see a midfield where Stevie G plays tight on the
left, with Carrick and Lampard in the middle. With Cole as an option on the bench..its not like he is a left winger anyway!!
He was immense not so long ago, but the last season and a half have shown him up to be an over zealous, hot-headed imbecile.
