It was & it wasn't if you know what I mean. I think she expected it but I still suprised her.

Yeah, but you can pretty much remember by looking at the people in the room staring at you. All you really need to say is that it's been a great day, your wife looks fantastic and thanks to everyone for turning up. The Best Man does the rest...

The speech would depend on your audience.
Best thing to do is get married in a foreign country when noneof your freinds or relatives can afford to go, then you'll be spared that speech rubbish.
