My Bro is looking for a new digi camera, and I've decided to get a nice flat monitor for Uni, so if anyone could do the leg-work and dig up and old thread, or make me recommendations in the £150 bracket, with lowest ms possible, for games playing. Again many thanks.

TFTs have a native resolution, because unlike CRTs, they are just a matrix of pixels. Using a res below native will either result in a) interpolation (ie blurriness) or b) large black borders on the pixels that aren't being used.

Also since the monitors all seem to be 1280x1024 resolution, I'm assuming my gfx card should be able to achieve that resolution before I look at buying it. The main problem here being that my GFX card only gives me 2 resoluton options - 1024x768 and 800x600, which is a little worrying.

Provided I can sort the above out, I may buy this http://www.gladiatorcomputers.com/ProductDetail.aspx?StockCode=MONV7E17PS&Link=SearchResults since it's from a shop quite close to me, so any issues I have with it can be resolved without a heafty postage charge.

Tho getting a brand like LG would make more sense, seeing as its only £5 more with Postage included.

17" or more is pretty standard these days.
It's not easy to find a 15" that's under 16ms and they generally aren't really that much cheaper than 17" anyway. I'm not sure what the model number is, but I'll edit it in when I've found it.

8ms is great for games, bad for everything else as the film's used in the creation of these panels are not great for movie playback or design work (if thats your thing) 12ms are better all rounders. Anything by Viewsonic/LG/Hyundai are highly reccomended.

There's a 17" Viewsonic 8ms TFT for about £150 but I have no idea if it's any good.
