why.........?
Robinson
Neville, Rio/Carragher , Terry, Cole
Beckham, Gerrad, Lampard, Cole
Rooney, Owen/Defoe
He wont change it just because 1 game and in that game he made lots of subs mainly JAMES.
If he was to bring in Parker and SWP he would need to change formation but i think he will keep the same.
And it's not that I don't like Hargreaves, it's just that I don't see him as such a naturally defensive midfielder. I get the idea that he'd roam around too much, but he is a possibility.
Unlike, say, a veteran of the Champions League that can anchor a midfield and is highly valuable as a quad player because of his versatility. Add to that he's not even 25, he played exceedingly well at the 2002 World Cup (A time when Parker still wished he was doing kick-ups for Maccie D's) and he's got lovely curly locks.
Hargreaves > Parker.
I thought he would have been an ideal purchase for Man Utd. A 24 year old replacement for Roy Keane - just what Fergie wanted - but going there would have been a poor move for both himself and England.
They want another season out of Roy Keane, and they've also got Fletcher, Scholes, Giggs, Park and now Smith who can play in the central trio of their 4-3-3 formation. Parker wouldn't necessarily have had a starting place, and if he had, it probably wouldn't have been in that holding role which he needs to play to perfection this season in order to convince Sven that he's England's Makelele.
After having a very fragmented Chelsea career, he's got to go into overdrive this season to be World Cup quality by next summer. At Newcastle he'll be starting whenever possible in his favoured position just in front of the defence, and will be playing in three competitions, which should be the right amount to ensure he's both sharp and fit for Germany.
Granted, Newcastle will not be playing in Europe, but when they will face the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool, they will be testing themselves against four of the best sides on the continent anyway.
Robinson
G. Neville - Ferdinand - Terry - A. Cole
Gerrard - Parker - Lampard
SWP - Owen - Rooney
If Parker keeps playing as well as he is, and manages even to improve on that, then I would have to have him in my team. He will just give Gerrard and Lampard so much more freedom and when they have that nod to go forward, they're incredibly influencial attacking players.
SWP is there on the condition that he earns a starting place in the Chelsea side this season (though I'm confident he'll manage to), and if Rooney will be playing wide for Man Utd for the whole season, you might as well take advantage and play him there for England. Terry is given the armband given that he captains that formation week-in, week-out at Chelsea and will help keep the shape of the team - one of the major weaknesses against Denmark.
So yeah, if Parker proves himself, SWP plays enough, G. Neville remains sharp and Robinson continues to stay in-form - a formidable team.
I still don't believe his crap about Owen. If Defoe will be playing in the first game, give him the full 90 minutes. When has he ever had that amount of football in one international game?! Owen gets them every time. Unlike at Real, where his match fitness was clearly lacking on Wednesday night.
'Friendly' fixtures give the chance to experiment with the new things and players; to prepare for the games that really count. It is not a chance to give someone match practice they so badly need - or another stand infront of the shop window! It's an hate international cap like any other - well, anywhere but this country, so it seems.
I'm actually quite glad Darren Bent didn't feature in the end.
But what is with the constant appearences from Owen Hargreaves as a late sub? What does Eriksson get out of doing this? The lad's clearly no good for us, I must say. Why not bring in someone who can make a difference - just like Scott Parker.
But if there's one thing I hate most about The Swede, then it's the way he's wormed himself into the easy life. He can leave when he wants to and still get paid MILLIONS when he's forced out; always within breathing space of the hottest vacancies in the Premiership, should the chance arrive. Last time we were told, he was set for a £14m pay off should his contract be terminated - and how he has an extended deal that'll take him past 2008! :@
I still believe, to this day, that had the media not caught hold of his private meeting with Abramovich, that is where he would be, at Chelsea. We would -possibly- have an Englishman in charge again. And José Mourinho, well... Heh, he could've been at Liverpool right now!! :D
Just think of the reaction had he still gone ahead with the move after being seen... How would our thug culture have reacted to him stabbing us in the back like that - even Chelsea fans, too. But if the deal was done, done first, it would've been somewhat easier for most of us to take.
That's what I reckon, anyway.

It was stated that Heinze spoke welsh when he first joined united becasue of his patagonia roots but he doesnt speak a word of welsh!
The Batistuta one is probably true has his ancestors are supposed to be from wales.
Why the hell would Batistuta want to speak Welsh? No-one wants to speak Welsh.
Did you know that the last Welsh speaking player to score against England was Gabriel Batistuta?
