I can understand people having a preferance to a certain console but a few movies and a spec list doesn't give you a true indication of how good it will end up being.
I know I will like the 360's controller, the PS3's one is another matter (no doubt there'll be a converter allowing 360 pads to be used on a PS3 anyway).
As far as specs go, they're important when looking at multiformat options, but aside from that they don't mean all that much.

I suppose your right, but since we can't play any of the games, all we have is demo footage and the specs of each console

Why?
If they all had the same releases then you could compare them like you do PC's but they won't they all try to aim for different people and groups, each are strong in some areas and weak in others.
At least wait until the consoles are actually out before spewing your fanboy juice everywhere.
Regardless of what the Xbox 360 and PS3 will do to each other in terms of competition we all know that they will both destroy the Nintendo Revolution
