I was complemented on my stomach just last Friday by a rather lovely lady so it can't be TOO bad.

I agree.
You can see my abs quite well because I have a low body fat %, but I do almost nothing to define them.
I used to be really fit when I was 13-15ish.
I could do 50-60 press-ups and about 30-40 sit-ups a minute.
Never did chin-ups though as I've never had a bar or anything to work with.
Now I can't even do 10 press-ups without getting knackered.
Sit-ups are still easy but with nothing to hold my feet down I can get frustrated eventually.
