In a month or so, I'm going to be having an operation and will be in hospital for a few days (then off work for a month, zing!). I'm going to be bored out of my mind unless I take something to do. I was thinking of getting a few DS games then leaving them alone until I go into hospital.

However, it occured to me that there might be a problem with that. We all know that you're supposed to switch mobile phones off in hospitals because the signals they give out can interfere with hospital equipment... but does anyone know if this would apply to the DS as well? Seeing as the DS is supposedly constantly sending out signals; searching for other DS consoles to connect with (or so I heard), would these interfere with hospital equipment in the same way as mobile phones?

If so, I'll take my GBA and finish Astro Boy and Minish Cap... but I fancied having Kirby and Nintendogs keeping me and my bed-pan company.

On the machine.

There are two little switches - one on the left, one on the right.

The right one controls powering up, switching off, putting into sleep and locking the keys.

The left one switches the wi-fi on and off - I always have it turned off unless I'm specifically after a multiplayer session.

That would be the best way, as there's nothing more annoying than someone you don't even know constantly bothering you. Bluetooth is a sod for that and that's just with my phone sitting there. I don't want some git messing me around when I'm trying to play something.

Yeah, the switchable Wi-Fi is a good idea. Even if you leave it switched on though, it turns off until it is to be used as a power-saving feature, which is probably what the DS does too.

I've experienced the inconvenience of that. I was sitting in Lloyds Bar in town a couple months ago...the night I puked on Jenny I believe, and was prank-texting Gareth from work, with Jenny helping to come up with the random prankness.

Suddenly, "You have a bluetooth request" or something along those lines came up on my screen. I randomly decided to accept it and was treated to some granny porn.

I showed it to the guys and gals from work, then deleted it.

Comes to something when a thread in a Nintendo forum turns to granny porn and bestiality :P

Realistically, this is exactly how the majority of threads on this forum generally tend to pan out.*
