Another top quality Nippon Ichi Software title coming to these shores despite the poor sales over here of Disgaea. So buy it!!!! it's a great RPG from the developers that make Square Enix look like amateurs

Ah well in that case you probably wouldn't like it. Like i said there's virtually zero roaming around apart from the castle, plus really the only sidequests there are is beating the powerful bosses but if you count the Item World as a side quest it's the biggest one in any game :-D

Hmm... I think it is something I'll give a miss, then.

I'm into RPGs like Morrowind, where there's much adventuring and side-quest fun to be had alongside the levelling up process.

No adventuring unless you count running around the castle as adventuring. Basically you just go to the portal keeper and she transports you to the next battle. Kind of like most Strategy RPG's, hardly any roaming around towns and stuff in any of them

Tis one of those games where unless you're willing to invest alot of time into it then you won't really like it too much, the beauty of the game lies in the Item World and powering your characters and items to insane levels.

Aye, but if it's that your looking for, Dark Chronicle sounds perfect.

Ah, how I love Dark Chronicle.

I still have to play through Disgaea, although I'm not too enthusiastic.

There's something in what I've read up about it that suggests an archaic RPG monotony, and the isometric viewpoint doesn't do much to quell these suspicions. Tell me, is there much adventuring in it, or things to do besides battles?

Think there is one around 150,000.

But not really sure, so don't quote me on that one.

Meh, the leveling up is a bit too much for moi.
