I really am not to sure, when we find a game we love, these games only come once every few years, but I really couldn't say which was my best game comparing Secret Of Mana and Zelda Ocarina of Time, thinking about it I played and received the same levels of enjoyment from both games, hell if I was to go with one it would denfinetely be the Snes Classic because with a multitap and a couple of friends 'nothing' beats it for gameplay and lastibility.
Therefore I really can't see us being that much more amazed in the games we play in the future, sure they can have superb graphics, because they will always get better, but for all other aspects of the game I can't see me enjoying anything in the future more than the old classics first time around.
Games in the future better be worth the wait, its been a long time (CBFD the exception) since I was trying to pick my mouth of the floor when playing a game, nothing in the past twelve months has impressed me that much... and I hope something does in the future, because I have waited long enough!
Thanks
er-no
Well really nobody knows do they?
Next year some brand spanking new pieve of technology maybe descovered... Improved V.R, 4D some thing that I could not mention now because it has not been invented yet, something thats plays around with the human brain to trick it into all fantastic new things, if you get me.
Or games could just get repetitive for the next decades ahead with no hope of anything happening, my children could be playing Tomb Raider 17 - Return of Lara or World Cup 2012, just with updated graphics and stats.
Its just one of those things we cannot predict. Like In 1920 who would have thought (NAZI) Germany would start another war 19 years later since the last one just finished. Or in 1869 who would have thought 100 years later somebody would have landed on The Moon (remember they didn't have anywhere near the same technology in those days ;). As I said we just don't really have a clue what the future of gaming brings for us.
Maybe in 10 years there will be no gaming. The Third War war starts, there is no way in hell there would be any games in production, any new consoles in production, or you able to play any games... you would be off fighting for your country (probably dying too).
Or maybe in the next 10 years Microsoft finally colapase due to greedy members fighting for money they forget about their job and many new companies take control of the market and make new virus free software.
50 years ahead who knows? We may have establised connections with ailien lifeforms (hey it could happen) and they share new technology and information and we could have the best gaming experience of our lifes, I'll be 65 years old so maybe not too old to use that new thing :D
Well there you go another over the top argument by myself about 'The Future of Gaming'
> exactly, no game can be perfect. So that must mean that games
> should become better as time passes. Well in theory anyway.
Better in what way? Graphically is the only way it can get better!
> If we think of games ratings wise, its hard to place a percentage on
> a game. Can a game ever get 100%? if it did it would mean it is
> perfect and it cant be bettered.
but when you have a game that is just that damn good, I really don't feel anything in the future can better it...
..NO GAME SHOULD EVER GET 100%, because NO GAME can be perfect.
