Games are alike everything we use and play in the world, they are given a rating, commented on, and then left for the public to buy and decide, however it has come to my attention that with these ratings and what-nots, can gaming actually get better then what we have already had?

I really am not to sure, when we find a game we love, these games only come once every few years, but I really couldn't say which was my best game comparing Secret Of Mana and Zelda Ocarina of Time, thinking about it I played and received the same levels of enjoyment from both games, hell if I was to go with one it would denfinetely be the Snes Classic because with a multitap and a couple of friends 'nothing' beats it for gameplay and lastibility.

Therefore I really can't see us being that much more amazed in the games we play in the future, sure they can have superb graphics, because they will always get better, but for all other aspects of the game I can't see me enjoying anything in the future more than the old classics first time around.

Games in the future better be worth the wait, its been a long time (CBFD the exception) since I was trying to pick my mouth of the floor when playing a game, nothing in the past twelve months has impressed me that much... and I hope something does in the future, because I have waited long enough!

Thanks

Can games get better?

Well really nobody knows do they?

Next year some brand spanking new pieve of technology maybe descovered... Improved V.R, 4D some thing that I could not mention now because it has not been invented yet, something thats plays around with the human brain to trick it into all fantastic new things, if you get me.

Or games could just get repetitive for the next decades ahead with no hope of anything happening, my children could be playing Tomb Raider 17 - Return of Lara or World Cup 2012, just with updated graphics and stats.

Its just one of those things we cannot predict. Like In 1920 who would have thought (NAZI) Germany would start another war 19 years later since the last one just finished. Or in 1869 who would have thought 100 years later somebody would have landed on The Moon (remember they didn't have anywhere near the same technology in those days ;). As I said we just don't really have a clue what the future of gaming brings for us.

Maybe in 10 years there will be no gaming. The Third War war starts, there is no way in hell there would be any games in production, any new consoles in production, or you able to play any games... you would be off fighting for your country (probably dying too).

Or maybe in the next 10 years Microsoft finally colapase due to greedy members fighting for money they forget about their job and many new companies take control of the market and make new virus free software.

50 years ahead who knows? We may have establised connections with ailien lifeforms (hey it could happen) and they share new technology and information and we could have the best gaming experience of our lifes, I'll be 65 years old so maybe not too old to use that new thing :D

Well there you go another over the top argument by myself about 'The Future of Gaming'

I do no think that games will get much better than they are today, as the same principles will always apply to games, the same is true also for the film industry, but that doesn't mean that there is an imminent doom to wipe the industry out. There will be neww hardware innovations which change the way in which graphics are displayed and even the way in which the binary system works. This will open up new possibilities in the hardware, but will they ever get better, or will a new generation be around to enjoy new games, look at friends, a hugely successful TV show, but it isn't really better than cheers was, but a new generation is watching and enjoying it, the same will be true for games, and I for one am happy at the overall standard of games today, many are middle of the road, we get a few gemsand slightly more stinkers, but the average is still high. As long as gamers remember this then the world will not rot in hell!!

Thats cos in the early years we didnt have anything to compare the games to. know-a-days all we seem to do is say how good the games were in the ol' days.

It'll get harder and harder, that's for sure. Over time, gamers will get bored with the same styles of gameplay, and although some genres like RTS will never die out because of the constant new features that are always being added, it will be really difficult in years to come to create a game that makes people say, "This'll be a classic".

The thinking behind the game. The control style. Sure the graphics will get better.

Better in what way? Graphically is the only way it can get better!

exactly, no game can be perfect. So that must mean that games should become better as time passes. Well in theory anyway.

but when you have a game that is just that damn good, I really don't feel anything in the future can better it...

..NO GAME SHOULD EVER GET 100%, because NO GAME can be perfect.
