i got xbox live yesterday and still dont have it working.
its stupid really because i seem to have tried everything.
I start my xbox up and it goes through trouble shooting it says that he cables are connected but when it gets to IP/ISP or something like that it does not succeed in doing it.it comes up with some help but i dont understand it.
Could someone please help me out.

There isnt nothing about my DNS in ipgonfig although i will have a look now.i changed the ip's and the gateway to what it should be in ipconfig and it worked.

TUT. is anyone else ere play on Live with NTL and if so how long did it take to do.Do you think i will ever do it.
NTL is the main reason for your problems. ADSL (BT, Pipe, Plusnet etc.) is just plug and play.

It says i have to verify my computers DNS thingys and set them to what my xbox is.

i tried that ipconfig and changed the IP's on my xbox.
it started to do it but it came up with network error this time which was diferent than before so brb people going to turn off my modem.

Ah, found the problem. NTL charge £5 extra if you are sharing the connection with your PC, and so by paying them you get an extra IP assigned to your Live play.
Of course, the cheaper long term version is to buy a router that has NAt so it fools the connection into having only the one IP. You can buy routers from most electronic shops, here on SR and other online web sites for quite cheap (£25-£35)
