That's nothing.
We get that from people of all nationalities.
I think only one person ever has said it right without being corrected.
"Let me guess, you're going to sell me a phone on the 3 Network, right?"
"No no I do nothing of the sort, I am not even from that company"
"Sure you're not, I'm going to go now, because whatever you're selling, I'm not interested."
"Oh but I can save you money on your mobile phone bills by switching you to 3. You'll get a new phone and everything!"
"..."
*hangs up*
I bloody hate them, they don't deserve leniency when they're clearly ignoring my request (even to a 'supervisor') to remove my contact details from their records. Now I either hang up straight away, or just leave the line open so they at least run some sort of bill up.
I'm going to call that number that was posted though, maybe I'll get some result there. There's a mailing preference service too, isn't there?
Rule 1 in our house - if they can't pronounce our name, you get rid of them as quickly as possible without being rude.
But then there's people who actually lie to you, who just get hung up upon.
My mum got a call the other day saying that from a survey she'd filled in (which she'd never do anyway) this company has realised they could decrease her monthy mortgage payments!
Amazing! Except, perhaps, for the fact that we don't have a mortgage.
Hmmm ...

Our name is about as easy as it gets to pronounce.
We're usually more inclined to listen if we can actually understand what's being said, or at least we're courteous about how we get rid of them.

That's fair enough.
But there are telesales centres like ours which everyone can speak English, but there are still some names which are hard to pronounce.
Anyways we get calls for people who can't speak English and that anoys me.

All of the telesales calls I've had lately have been from people of Asian origin. It can be quite difficult to understand them sometimes and often they won't even be able to pronounce our name properly, and I don't just mean that it sounds a little odd through their accent, they really have no idea how to pronounce it.
If they can't be bothered to learn to speak the language of their customers to a coherent standard, then I think it's fair that I can't be bothered to listen to what they're saying.
