For the editorial exam on friday - do we have a choice of two questions per info-pack, so 4 questions in total?

I cant find the exam spec.

Cheers.

I usually re-arrange the booklet so all the similar texts are next to eachother anyway, but that index could be pretty useful.

Dunno about the audience thing, though - surely the whole point of this is adapting the stuff for a different audience, so it's pretty irrelevant as to who it's directed at like this.

Well look at the grace thing - theres a text devoted to how the lights in lighthouses work - you're not going to mention that in, say, a childrens leaflet about the event/lighthouse life.

However if it was a tour booklet for mechanists you may well include it.

As for potential questions I think:

Grace:
- Write an advert/article promoting/reviewing the Grace Darling musuem for X audience
- Write a newspaper article aimed at X audience about the shipwreck
- Write an article about Grace Darling as a heroin and its significance

Ibiza:
- Persuade older people/couples to visit Ibiza
- Persuade clubbers to take time to see the other side of the island
- A specific article for a book/magazine about nature and wildlife in Ibiza

Can you think of anything more?

Meh, it's basically the Desk Study I did at AS Level.

We got bullying, which was actually quite interesting.

Nah, I'll be alright.
I'm hoping that 2nd Ibiza question you put will actually be one - I was thinking they might do that as well, and it'd be perfect for me.

I'll have to do this in sixth form next year, if they have me.

Yeah that would be the easiest to write as it's a pretty similar demographic to ourselves - and it's easier to write for yourself than others.

Aye. Out of everything, I can probably get that kind of style down perfectly - the informally conversational one. I suppose coming on here has helped that along some.

Rai - this is 2nd year stuff. The first year is very different, and a breeze through. And you actually get to do some original writing, which was the whole reason why I signed up to the course in the first place - and then you don't do any in the 2nd year.
