WWE Day of Reckoning
I seem to remember a better choice last year and less colons. You know it's been a bad year when Day of Reckoning makes into the top 6. And as for game of the year, there isn't a single GC game on the list:
Doom 3
Fable
Half-Life 2
Ninja Gaiden
Pro Evolution Soccer 4
WWE Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain (Was that really better than MK:DD?)
Oh well. At least 2005 looks promising and GC got two nominations for most wanted game of 2005 with the new Zelda and Resident Evil 4.

Hmmm I have to agree there hasn't been anything universally great for a while.
But Mario Kart surly deserves a place in the best game of the year sorta thing.
