I know of this from Weird Al Yankovic's parody, Fat.... where all the buckles on his jacket are used to keep all his flab in, and when released unleash an awesome Fat Guy suit!

Well, I'm not... as you may guess from my appearance alone; I have shoulder-length hair, and my normal clothes include a biker jacket, steel-toed boots, a pyramid stud belt and black jeans!
He's all part of the lastest trends...
Well, that means they can sell it to the kids easily... so plenty more fuel to the fire of pop rubbish already fed to them by commercial radio...
